LOST..... How do you think it will end

Haha I didn't mind her, it was a little cheap the way they killed her though.

It was only a few episodes a go Jack and Richard sat in the Black Rock lighting sticks of dynamite for fun. Surely it would have made more sense for the person who can't die to handle the explosives?

Im sure Lockes face at the end was the exact same camera angle and blood splatter as it was in the very first episode before he looks down and his feet.

Does this mean we are allowed to talk about the new episode now?

*EDIT* NM thought it was aired on a Sunday

It was a little bit slapstick as lost can be sometimes at its own ridiculous story lines

I dont like them killing off the new guys like red shirts

The well is that old darma station ? I wonder lockes accident will help desmond now

Locke has facial expressions other than mildly constipated?

Wonder what the benefit of him being killed off in the alternate time-line is.

Very much doubt Locke is dead in the alt time-line. It's more likely this near death experiance will cause him to 'familiarise' himself with the near death experience of the original plane crash, or some other of that nature. Therefore he becomes aware of the real timeline.

Although that does beg the question, how does alt time-line Des conclude which method is right for each individual person e.g. why didn't he run Hurley down with his car?

Its a strange one.

I thought the dynamite explosion killing Ilana off was pretty cheap to be honest, like they couldn't think of any other way to get rid of her so just thought, lets go for the most obvious but also it seemed the most ridiculous. It was still unexpected and shocking but seemed pretty stupid.

And the way Hurley suddenly figures out what the whispers are, he decides he knows what they are all of a sudden, proved pretty cheap aswell, like they couldn't think of any other way to explain that either.

It feels like they are rushing now to try and answer all of these questions and some are being answered in pretty cool and interesting ways, whereas others are being answered in 'cheap' and rushed ways.

Does desmond getting thrown down the well by locke not seem related to desmond driving over locke

The smirk at the end would maybe insinuate that yes.... but no, I don't agree.

Locke is bound to meet Jack again in surgery, an encounter which Locke had already been given the chance to but turned down. Locke is still the man of faith that we saw denied the walkabout. Des just went about it the way that Locke needed to be shown. Who knows, he may even walk again :)

...and further thinking, I wonder who may well arrest Des for the hit and run on Locke? Sawyer and Miles maybe?

I think if every question was to be answered in 'cool and interesting ways', we would be here for another six seasons.

True. It's my only gripe with the show really, it's still as enjoyable as ever. I'll be buying the complete blu-ray box set as soon as it is released and then I'll watch it all again from the beginning. One of the best TV shows of the past ten years.

I can see this being the case. Of the surviviors actually on the the island alive weve seen all the main characters that are alive connected somehow in this alternate reality. (except Alpert, i wonder where he is in the off island reality?) can see these threads coming together in the next few episodes.

I agree with all of this. I thought straight off that Richard should have been carrying the dynamite but it seems they just needed a way to get rid of Ilana.

I've always thought that the writers didn't know themselves what the whispers were, they just liked the idea of the noise to indicate something bad was about to happen. I think I would have preferred to continue believing that than the "best fit" solution they gave us.

alpert has been on the island for hundreds of years, therefore he doesnt have an off island reality, all the people who have an off island reality are those who went to the island within the past 10 years or so apart from benjamin linus and his friends.

therefore alpert, man in black and jacob wont have an off island reality.

It might be he returns to his own time line where he doesnt need the medicine or those events dont occur or maybe he gets hanged :o

Theres no reason for him to be trapped there forever

I dont have a problem with the whispers thing, kind of an obvious explanation. Slightly miffed they denied purgatory (or whatever) because it sure sounds close

I would forget any other mistakes if they could bring back Mr ecko

I doubt it, the whispers are not random noises, but rather actual speech, and can be decoded using audio software. Why go to all the effort if they had no meaning.

the time line's are both in the present.

e.g. island timeline april 2010
off-island timeline april 2010

richard alpert on island timeline april 2010 - is okay due to being immortal
richard alpert off island timeline april 2010 - has been dead for like 300 years, therefore doesnt have one

therefore the only people who have off island timelines are those who were born within the past 60 years or so. unless alpert can get off the island? i dont know how his power works. it is confusing.
