**Lost Odyssey Official Thread**

Never played a FF game, but enjoyed Oblivion and Mass Effect. Is this going to be too 'hardcore' for me?

Well I was excited.......now I'm stupidly excited :D

im on D3 now, i think on the whole its FF quality but i dont think the replayability or exploration potential will bring it up to FF7 (wtf have they done to world maps in modern RPG's!!!) However this is top drawer JRPG fare without a doubt.

That's ok, I don't have as much time to play as I did with FF7 :o So sounds just right to me :D

nah its pretty accessible

Even with the combat system? I've never played anything like it. I suspect the missus would love it, but I can't be doing with having to ask her what to do ! Women shouldn't know such things !

/me runs away from Haly sharpish.........

Load times are fine, gameplay gets hard quickly even as you level up theres still randoms who can kick you about unless you use an iron clad strategy, likely this to the best bits from blue dragon and the best bits from enchanted arms. Never played FF7, but its not quick FF8 standards, D1 for me was done in 12 hours and that was exploring everything (though skipped all but the first dream), which is suprising, but since theres a lot fo FMVs I can see how it takes 4 discs (assuming the other 3 are this short (playtime)).

From all these responses from the ppl whos played it on here, it looks like were in for a great experience. Im just gonna complete everything, im gonna lvl all characters to max and get everything, including the achievments:D

Just noticed that if you preorder at a popular competitor's site you get a bonus ingame level and weapon...

Anyone know anything about what these might be?

Might give it a go.

Apparantly the load times are not as bad as reported, from what ive read on gamefaq

I'd say they're bearable. Loading a new area can take from 5 to 20 seconds. They vary too. If you go back to a previously loaded area it can sometimes be instant. Then there's the random battles.. they take longer than most RPGs. Usually you get a swirly thing then bam attack attack attack but with Lost Odyssey it's more like swirly thing, camera pan.. camera pan, attack attack attack.

the rumours were from a pre-release where, apparently, some fights took almost 2 minuites to load!!! Im glad to report that even the most hectic battles load in 10-30 secs and the worst loading is no more than 1min

hmmmm tempted to import but not sure if im keen on "grinding". I know one person said there wasnt a need to grind, and another said there was...

Persuade me guys :p
