imho this is not something that should be done over email.

What a great thread, it's made my day reading this.![]()

It would be the easyest way i would ahve thought, the scaryest but easyest.
At least you wont be sitting there wondering if she got your email or not![]()

Pleased to hear it, I wish you all the very best with "first contact", I've been in similar circumstances before myself (grandfather in my case), I can't think of anytime in my adult life that I have been more petrified! It turned out that he felt exactly the same way, so don't worry about it, I'm sure they're just as nervous. My contact was through a letter (before emailburnsy2023 said:They're in the UK, well one of my brothers is in spain but should be back soon.
It's made my day as well, its only just starting to sink in.

!) and I still feel that was the right way, gave me time to absorb things before I talked over the phone and then ultimately a face-to-face meeting.i know nothing said:My contact was through a letter (before email!) and I still feel that was the right way, gave me time to absorb things before I talked over the phone and then ultimately a face-to-face meeting.

I've thought about phoning her, but tbh I'll probably just cry, at least if I send an email I can sound remotely comprehensible.

You know she will probably cry to and it will show that you are really sad/happy![]()

I sent an e-mail, and had a phone call about 30 mins ago.
I'm still shaking a little bit.
I know it cliched, but I really do feel like I've known her forever. ANd guess what? She's coming down on the weekend....
My god the last 4 and a bit hours have been surreal.
