Is Emo still a thing?

First saw LP in the Barrowlands in 2002, before they brought out Shinobi, and they were awesome.

Saw them again in 2008, in the Garage, doing a warm up gig for T in the Park. Not as awesome but still great.

I'm shocked at this, never been a massive fan really, but they're a decent band. I guess because I'm not a massive fan I've never really looked in depth about the members of the band. Also, it'd be just as shocking if it was a random member of the public, doesn't really matter who it is.
 
Pretty horrendus, pretty sickened as well.

but as other people have said, I've noticed that people are taring the band off as unlistenable from now on.

They can find a new singer, and carry on, or even form a new band. it's not like the rest of the band are being charged. Never really stood out for me, but I'll still listen to their stuff now and again.
 
Ian Watkins, singer of Welsh rock band Lostprophets, has pleaded guilty to a series of child sex offences including attempted rape of a baby.

He had previously "furiously denied" the allegations.

The 36-year-old from Pontypridd had been due to stand trial at Cardiff Crown Court alongside two women.

Watkins pleaded guilty to attempted rape and sexual assault of a child under 13 but not guilty to rape. This was accepted by the prosecution.

Wow. Seriously didn't expect him to actually plead guilty.
 
Of the women standing alongside Watkins in the dock, Mr Clee said: "Both women sexually abused their own children and made them available to Watkins for him to abuse."

One defendant, Woman A, admitted the attempted rape of a baby after denying rape and two of sexual assault as well as taking and distributing an indecent photograph of a child.

I can't even really even comment properly on this. It's just beyond belief. Lucky for any potential jury that they won't actually have to view any of the material involved.

I hope that the children involved don't remember any of it.
 
Aside from the victims themselves, I feel sorry for the other band members. Their careers in music have practically been ended by a dispicable act of another member. I can't see how they could ever perform live, even in different bands without being jeered, even though they had nothing to do with it.

A really sad case, especially because I used to quite like the LP (and in a way, I still do, their music was great), but I will be listening to them in future through my headphones only!

So apparently it IS true and he has "accepted he was a 'determined and committed paedophile'" and has pleaded guilty to a series of child sex offences including attempted rape of a baby.

Used to love Lost Prophets' first album, Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja was great back in the day. Shame he went the wrong way with the other stuff, his morals included..
