LOTR & Hobbit UHD versions coming soon.

After watching all of the LotR extended’s I thought I’d go all in and get The Hobbit trilogy too. I was of the mindset that I’d been too harsh on them when watching them originally and it would be better second time round and marginally extended... boy was I wrong. They’re so, sooooo bad. Visually from a technical 4K/DV stand point they look great, but that’s all I can really say in their favour. Awful films. Just awful.

The third film is the best of them I can almost imagine I was back watching LoTR again, almost but not quite.

Really I thought the 3rd was the worst. Just endless pointless fighting with heroic stupid drama moments.

The 2nd for me was the best, the dragon scene for the most part was good until the comic relief dwarfs bouncing around moment, I liked the "cliff hanger" ending, though it was quickly spoilt when watching the 3rd film so knowing what it leads to is disappointing.

As has been said, they are badddddd films. Only visually they look good, but at the same time I really didn't like the over use of cgi

I don't mind the hobbit. It has some amazing parts throughout but a lot of faff to get to it.

Battle of the five armies really drags in places.

Has the super boxset ready for release yet with all 6 films?

I've been watching them as "freebies" with my Microsoft rewards point on Xbox. Peter Jackson is just incredible. Words fail me with how much attention to detail he has put into these films and the fact he seems to live on cups of tea with no sleep! :D The hours and hours of behind the scenes stuff (I've only just finished off the Smaug extras last night) is truly fascinating. Things like building entire sets with incredible dressings for maybe only 1-2 minutes in the film.

Can't wait to get to the Fellowship. I've only seen that once and can not remember a thing about it.

It's on amazon now £200

There's a better video on amazon.

The artwork is stunning

Ahh why not.
Got my pre-order in. LOTR is the greatest Trilogy ever.
