The UK is already full, And i am still waiting on someone to disprove it.
Do you know how ridiculous this makes anything you post ?
...Well i left... so someone can take my spot you UKIP morons...
The UK is already full, And i am still waiting on someone to disprove it.
I find it all hilarious. It proves without a doubt Jack Straw was right the English are a race not worth saving. I have never seen such bickering over something proven without any doubt.

You may notice my username has changed.....
why ?
Well, an obviously lefty moderator decided that my use of the word **** (i added the stars in myself), breached the boards swearing policy and Banned Me.
This is despite, the forum rules stating that warnings, and points are supposed to be given, and 4-5 occurences of other people in this thread doing exactly the same thing.
The left, always tries to suppress, what they cannot control.
So i shall take my discussion, and my business, elsewhere.
bye
The UK can currently only produce 50-60% of the food needed to sustain the current population.
By that measure, we were full a long time ago.
Lots of articles discussing our "food security" in the context of a fast-growing global population.

It can only end baldy.

I think that's a misplaced concern.

The people who wrote those papers seem to be taking it quite seriously. Relatively speaking, our buying power will decrease as poorer nations raise themselves to our level (and above).
It's already been in the news how we can expect food prices to dramatically increase in future.
The consequence of importing 50% of our food might not be so bad now, but in future it's going to be a serious problem.
A lot of people don't honestly believe that we could ever have a major drop in living standards in this country. There is unshakable belief in our continuing status as a 1st world country. It's a blind faith and I'm sure will prove to be unfounded.
Or just import food.

.
The fact is - technologically it is most certainly not beyond our means to provide more than enough power & food for the entire population.
We have vertical farming, rotary hydroponics - it's not actually something in science fiction, just not that cheap (yet).
Once food prices rise to a certain level (along with the combined effect of our technology in this field advancing) it will hit a point in which the current method of commercial agriculture is no longer economically sound.
The same applies to renewable energy, the efficiency ratings have been on a steady rise for quite some time - as our energy stocks deplete the price increases making alternatives more economically viable.
Population growth is only a 'problem' in the developing world, a sane person would suggest that perhaps we assist in bringing these nations up-to our level, empower women (key factor in reducing population growth) & promote the use of contraceptives.
While I appreciate this isn't the usual kind of UKIP scare mongering you are used it, it's all factual - our country isn't 'full' as our carrying capacity is entirely dependant on our efficiency & how we use our resources.
I don't see UKIP promoting any real world solutions, just isolation fear & irrational knee jerk reactionary views to appease the downtrodden dullard on the street. I can appreciate that it must be pretty crap for some people living in this country (poverty, ghetto's, lack of jobs) - but if you think UKIP is going to be the silver bullet to any of your woes you are sadly mistaken.
Nigel Farage is just another stooge who doesn't give a flying **** about the average worker in the UK, this is evident by his laughable policies.
I got this from Google on Country, Land mass and population.
England 130,395 km² - 53.01 million (2011)
Scotland - 78,387 km² - 5.295 million (2011)
Wales - 20,761 km² - 3.064 million (2011)
Northern Ireland - 13,843 km² -1.811 million (2011)
Or just import food.
