LOWEST PRICING IN UK ON NVIDIA: 1060 £179.99, 1070 £349.99 & 1080 £449.99 !!

Obviously not, but I'm guessing it will do for him and it's not a bad deal. Am guessing he just has a set price in his mind about what he'll pay for that extra speed bump.

That'd be my thinking anyhow :)
As you say :)

Telecaster: The RX 580 Pulse have 8gb vram too. The price / value ration is not bad for this card. The rx 1070 was a good deal for £350, but not for 390 + shipping cost.

But then Volta/Navi will cost even more on release? Are you planning to wait like 3 years for Volta to be cheap?
I don't think that was his point. The 1070 has been around for a long time, cost about the same back when it came out. As time passes by price for performance improves. Look what happened to 980Ti performance price when the 1070 came out for example if you cannot wrap your head around what is being said.

Pascal is in the last quarter of its life. At this point unless one is panting for a graphics card, might as well wait for Volta and get new shiny tech that will likely improve price for performance.

With prices continually rising through time (a 1060 this gen cost rough what a 970 last gen) why do you think prices will be reasonable? I wouldn't be surprised if the 1170 costs what the 1080 does on release. And until the guy actually clarifies what he specifically meant, you don't really know what he meant yourself. Until prices for the next gen are known then we won't know for sure. But I am quite confident that everything will go up considerably.

I never said they would be reasonable. I said price for performance would improve.

I think you maybe a bit confused due to the pound value going down slowly the past dacade. The difference in price on release of a 970 to a 1070 was $50, but the performance difference was massive. If they did the exact same jumping from a 1070 to 2070 it would mean we would be getting 1080 Ti performance for around £450. Hence a massive improvement in price for performance.

real funny thing is a decent 970 gtx can still beat a 1060 in many games at 1080.so they were better cards than people gave them credit for.also the nonsense with 3.5gb was literally a non issue.
