LOWEST PRICING IN UK ON NVIDIA: 1060 £179.99, 1070 £349.99 & 1080 £449.99 !!

I'd pay more for raw performance is what I'm saying. Power efficiency could be used to extract more performance at a higher power draw.

I think most peole would be won over by the performance.

Seriously a whole £15 a year. But isn't the power difference closer to 50 watts between the VEGA 56 and GTX 1070. factor in the AMD card is faster and the argument falls apart.
  • Vega 56 - 5% faster on average than 1070 FE, using 19.5% more power (331w vs. 277w total system power)
  • Vega 64 Air - 5% slower on average than 1080 FE, using 49.1% more power (431w vs. 289w total system power)
  • Vega 64 Liquid - 4% faster on average than 1080 FE, using 67.8% more power (485w vs. 289w total system power)
  • Vega 64 Liquid - 18% slower on average than 1080 Ti Auros, using 24.0% more power (485w vs. 391w total system power)
Just to note, all those figures are vs. bog standard basic clocked FE cards... put them against AIB and well...

People seem to be undervolting Vega. Looks like the default voltage setup is much higher than needed and adds very little in the way of overclocking.

Yeah Vega 56 looks good. At RRP its a bit of a baragin. Veag 64 was also a baragin at £430.

In what world does it look good? Nothing about any Vega is good. It's average at best. You have comparable performance to a stock 1070 a year late at a higher power draw with crappy stock blower coolers... For the price of Vega 56 you'll be able to get an AIB cooled 1070 which will completely negate that 5% lead, while still having less power/heat/noise.

Vega 56 MSRP is $399 = £310 + VAT = ~£375

You can get a pre-overclocked AIB 1070 for £340 right now...

The ONLY reason to buy Vega over a Pascal card is if you have a Freesync monitor. If you have Gsync, or non-sync screen then the Pascal cards are just better.

Faster than the cheapest GTX 1070 in the UK and less money. Looks good. Also retailers don't pay US retail prices and add VAT. Your sums are wrong.

It will be £ to $ no doubt, so £400 for a blower reference vs £350 for a AIB 1070. Not worth it.

And to proclaim a 64 was a bargain at £430 is madness. £330 maybe...

The cheapest GTX1070 IN the UK isn't as fast as the base card and the pricing structure makes the £390 look a little better value. So a £330 Vega 56 looks like the one to hold out for. The question is are OcUK one of the blessed retailers.

Fractionally faster than a 1070fe.

Slower than an overclocked 1070.

So it's a slower card, it will need to be priced appropriately.

£330 Vega 56... what are you smoking?

Zotac 1070 Mini can be had for £340 and has a boost of 1708MHz out the box with an AIB cooler. The FE is 1683MHz. It's going to be trading blows with the Vega 56 while being cheaper, better cooled, quieter, and using less power.

Unless AMD decide to sell the 56 at a loss it's never going to come in at that price.

Pretty much decided VEGA is not for me. Today's launch price of VEGA 56 pretty much sealed the deal to go green.

MSI GTX 1080 Sea Hawk EK X seems the card. The block to me is worth ~£100. As blower cooler in VEGA has 0 value for me the price compare would be as follows:-

¡) VEGA 56 ~£380
ii) GTX 1080 ~£400
iii) VEGA 64 ~£450 (0 chance of seeing the launch day price in coming weeks I think).

Anyone have experience to share on MSI GTX 1080 Sea Hawk EK X?

1080 for 400 ? ... linkie please

You have missed the point of the post. VEGA 56/64 AIR version prices quoted for compare, again best prices so far. As I wouldn't wanna be on air a waterblock is gonna be ~£100. So the MSI GTX 1080 Sea Hawk EK X has one, which is worth ~£100 in my eyes, so £500 -£100 = £400. As the air cooler on VEGA has no value in my eyes, thus I make the compare I posted before.
