It's surreal for me seeing Tom Ellis in stuff like this. He was the son of the minister at my parents' church. Spent the best part of a year in a bible study and discussion group with him on Sunday mornings in my early to mid teens.

"Outhwaite filed for divorce, citing Ellis' infidelity as the grounds for dissolution of the marriage." - Doesn't sound like he takes after his parents (that said the tales I've heard of goings on in some Church groups in the UK lol...).

I'm not aware of any recent church attendance on his part but still know a few people in touch with his family.

Very occasionally still bump into one of his sisters from time to time, who is now a church leader. Up to 3 or 4 years ago I attended the church she leads (different from my childhood one).

His dad conducted his wedding service to Tamsin Outhwaite though. I somehow missed that it was happening and did a double take when I saw them on the cover of Hello. Had a flick through, slightly surreal seeing pictures of Liam Gallagher in a pink suit next to your old church minister and a bunch of other people you know.

I don't think I've actually seen Tom himself since the 90s.

I canned it after the pilot, but gf started watching it yesterday on Prime.

Still cheesy, and he is still annoying, but there are some funny moments. I prefer it as a comedy over a police procedural with wacky sidekick.

Nice - its not like the most amazing show ever but so far I'm still finding it interesting enough - it has its moments when it is outstanding.

Without Lucy and a couple bits of eye candy, this show would be dull as heck.
I enjoy it for the character and comedic parts, but the rest is so predictable and hum-drum police prodedural, it's almost like being back at work!!

I agree that the show Lucifer would be rubbish without the character Lucifer.

It's prety dull even with him, though.
As far as the Policey bit goes, it's a generic procedural with the one defining moment being where he asks the suspect what their deepest desires are, gets the solution and closes the case. That's it.
I'm only watching to see what happens in the personal life aspect. The rest is just predictable gumph.

Been a long time advocate of shows getting boring and repetitive or using that superhero or anti-hero team up with cops tv-series formula.

But what can one do when just about every tv series uses this formula!

Lucifer filled in that blank spot limitless left but its only good for background viewing for myself.
