I noticed a new chip on my windscreen, it's grown spider legs so it's time for a new screen for me, thankfully Soton Autoglass do a good job and get the right screen having had mine changed once already.

when the new one goes in, make sure they dont put scratches down the a posts or along the inside of where the glass in bonded in because thatll rust for fun

Or you could do the cheap nasty way - put plastic sheeting over it (maybe cut eye holes) trap it in the doors and perhaps a magnet on the roof... job done...

Seriously though - how unlucky is that. I remember when I had my window done I had to phone around several guys to get it sorted that day... one was suggesting various cars that were close in shape to mine and wondered if they fit - one, of only a handful of times, that I've actually put the phone down on someone...

G'luck getting it sorted - any indication when the new ones going to be in stock?
