Lulzsec!

From Twitter: "Tango down - cia.gov - for the lulz."

... yeah they ain't going to last much longer.

If they're using SSN tunnels + Tor + offshore, private and probably shady VPN/VPS services who neither log what goes on or probably care, amongst other methods, then I imagine someone they know grassing them up is going to be the most likely way they'll get caught.

Indeed, plus they more than likely have access to a botnet. The people contributing to the DDoS attacks probably don't even know it.

They are well hidden and they know it, no one is dumb enough to hit the cia without knowing they are safe from identification.

Actually multiple proxies is no longer that effective for hiding your point of origin from law enforcement agencies.

Custom written private proxy obfusication i.e. hiding the fact its even a proxy might work a little better.

Jeez taking it to a whole new level now

These guys just bought themselves some serious attention can't imagine the us gov sitting on their hands much longer

lol, real?

I do know what a botnet is :P its relatively trivial to take control of an average botnet these days if its generic IRC based and find their inception point there to, tracking back that connection if they've bounced it through a few proxies is a lot harder but thats not how it would be approached any more.

The real problem is if they have a good programmer or 2 on the team who have gone to the trouble of writing their own software from ground up.

I've played uplink, its simple to just route the connection through a ton of different PCs, just make sure you have admin access to one of them so you can delete the logs, then you're home dry.

All this is going to do, if anything, is give the supporters for a closed/monitored internet more support.

I wonder if they may even be behind it.

That's what I think, it stinks of a False Flag. New Draconian Internet laws in 3...2...1...
