M3/RS4 killer?

The new Lexus IS-F looks pretty good in my opinion. Do you think it will steal any M3 RS4 sales? We all know the RS4 looks great but the M3 is likely to be disappointing (lookswise); compared to the last model at least. How do you think the Lexus will compare?

Lexus today unveiled the IS-F luxury sedan at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The all-new 2008 IS-F will target the BMW M3 and Audi RS4, delivering more than 400 horsepower and 350 ft.-lbs. of torque from a 5.0-liter V8 engine. It will eventually be offered as a two-door coupe, as well.

In Drive mode, the IS-F transmission performs smoothly, and the torque converter allows for quick 0-60 acceleration in less than 4.9 seconds. The transmission also features a manual mode operated via a pair of paddles. Downshifts are accompanied by automated throttle blips to match engine RPM to vehicle speed. Heavy-duty Brembo brakes with 14.2-inch discs and six-piston calipers ensure all the power is kept under control. The IS-F features custom-designed 19-inch forged alloy wheels as standard. I think it looks vulgar, yet another "attempt" for lexarse to clone a BMW/audi model and yet again their styling is just vile.

EDIT: Rear end is ok, but the front and side profiles make me want to heave. WTF is going on behind the front wheels, and why does the nose drop off like a slide? Whole side profile looks like a giant shoe tbh.

Now that is a car i like. The front is a wee bit too pointy and the exhausts look gash but apart from that it sounds good.

It wouldnt have stolen E46 M3 sales since the M3 is a coupe but the E90 M3 is gonna be a 4 door aswell so it will be good to have competition.

Looking again at the side profile the front end looks too much like an M roadster. Oh the rear looks like an audi now aswell

bmw has a V8,lexus has a V8 what does the Rs4 have? A v10?

I like the old is200 and the new is220, that is nice, but its a very jap looking 3 series to me

It doesn't look too bad actually, though the back looks a bit ugly.

I don't see it becoming an M3 beater somehow though personally, not really sure why, but don't see it selling as many compared to the M3 or even the RS4.

It looks like you'd expect a barryboy'd up Toyota Avensis to look. Sporty in all the wrong places.

I agree with that, I was going to say muscular in the wrong places, it just looks odd to me. Looks kind of like a beefed up Hyundai Coupe to.

Looks a mess to my eyes. The side on view makes you think they have glued on a front from a different car, that slat looks all wrong, and those exhaust pipes look horrible. Need to see one in the flesh, but if it looks like that I wouldn't buy one.
