M5 Temptation

i get 9-10mpg around town and around 18-20mpg on the motorway.

cruise set to 70mph is about 22-23mpg. i normally get around 200 miles of mostly around town driving out of £60-£70 petrol fill up ( super).

havent had any repair costs but tyres are £800 -£1000 for a set and if you drive it like its supposed to be then the rears wont last long at all.

i have had the brake pads changed and parts alone for a full set were over £350.

to say you cant use the power everyday isnt true. its not like you have to try and do 200 mph everywhere, its just being able to pull away from 20mph in 4th effortlessy etc.
It's an auto :p

Anyway, thing is, you will go from 20mph to what? 30? 40? 50? 60?

There aren't many situatuions when I would want to pull away effortlessly while I am in 4th.

If I did want supercar performance, I would be looking at one of these and a daily drive.

as rarely would I need to drive extremely fast and carry lots of stuff.

Guys, thanks for your comments. Common sense prevails, given that most of my driving will be around town, I can’t justify the M5 and the 530i M Sport Touring stays. The head rules the heart! :)
Buy something for cheap thrills, if thrills are what you want.

That does look very nice, 560HP. Are re-mapped 911 turbos reliable?

It depends on who remapped them and how genuine the numbers are. Lots of debate at the moment in Porsche circles around a couple of the well known 'tuners' and their power claims. If its done right by one of the respected people such as RUF then it will be fine and this one seems to have been done by Andy Fearns who used to work on my GT3 and is well respected, so it should be fine.
