M6 Toll Closed by armed police

I would say that what the police did was probably a waste of several dozen million pounds (including the lost money due to lost man hours with other drivers), but perhaps if society was less uptight and just asked the "perpertrater" what he was doing, this would have been avoided.

Simply pathetic that anyone would immediately call the police, call someone a terrorist and brush it off no doubt afterwards...than to simply ask a question.

If the terrorists wanted anything, this is it, the demise of society at the simplest level...I suppose its quite beneficial to the media (due to their massive propaganda pushing terrorism as the next Cold war or something, when its simply not the case), they get these fantastic stories to air.

Basically what you're saying is that vapers should refrain from vaping which is almost certainly harmless to them and certainly harmless to those around them simply because the alternative it replaces, 'smoking' is dangerous and creates dangerous second hand smoke, and there could be confusion over the two (or worse in this case you get accused of terrorism).

No thats not what I am saying at all.

What I am saying is there is no need to stick a pipe type object into your mouth whether it be harmful or not (ie a real or a "fake" cigarette).

Talk about touchy ;)

Well if you have nicotine addiction that you are trying to rid yourself of, that's not an option.

Easy to say/do with hindsight. It could have been a device much more sinister, they do not always work as planned such as the shoe bomber., that iirc created smoke as opposed to blowing up.

Its the same as saying that if someone pointed a gun at you you would check it wasn't a fake before you tried to duck/run/plead for mercy.

"Excuse me mate is that a real gun your pointing at me?"
or
**** thats a gun pointing at me.. run!

Likewise there is no 'need' for two gay men to hold hands when they walk down the street. The point remains the same, if they want to they should be able to regardless of whether you think there is a need or not.

And his point was that some people vape zero nic juice, because it;s the act of smoking they like not the nicotine.

If you are vaping zero nic, what would a patch give you other than an unwanted chemical?

You got something funny in that pipe?

He was talking about a nicotine addiction how do you get that vaping plain water?

I don't know how many times I can explain the same thing, an addiction to smoking is not just an addiction to nicotine and in some cases nicotine has nothing to do with it.

As someone who probably doesn't smoke or vape, I can understand why you can't see why someone would vape zero nicotine juice, but you could ask the same thing about people driking zero alcohol beer or decafinated coffee.

Some people just like the taste and the feel of 'smoking'. Vaping gives you an almost infinite choice of flavours and 'feels' the same as smoking, it's not just about nicotine intake.

I have said before about the nicotine element not being the whole thing.

I can understand the mental side of it, I worked with a couple of guys who gave up a few times and started again they struggled massively with the physical side when in the pub, the pint "felt different" without a fag in their hand.

I can understand why people may want to do it, my whole point was about the drug side being a physical dependancy and hence the patches may take away that physical need aspect.

There are plenty of occasions where it would be unacceptable to vape, such as in the middle of an exam or a meeting. Its not necessary to do so on a coach, the physicaly drug dependancy can be covered if thats the issue, the having to physically do so is not a necessity its a choice.

Im not saying its wrong all I am saying is I cannot yet see any reason why its a necessity to do so. Yes its not illegal and I see no reason to make it so, but I can also understand why from some people it would be concerning as its not yet a normal occurance.

I saw an interview with one of the passengers on TV and apparently they weren't even told why the cops were interested in the bus. They were just told the police were investigating a potential security threat on it, something to that effect. Then they were told there was nothing to worry about and to get back on the bus. The woman hadn't seen any vapours/smoke, so didn't have a clue what the fuss was about, so I guess whoever called the cops did it on the sly so the alleged "terrorist" wouldn't hear them. I would be surprised if absolutely no-one else on the bus hear them speaking to the police though. Imagine that conversation when they got back on :D

Yeah, after all, they just shot him for sport didn't they.

The police are not allowed to make mistakes. Ever.

The haters will call upon these errors until the end of time in order to defend any silly viewpoints they have. All police are evil, etc.
