There seems to be some sort of mission control feature in Safari that i've triggered a few times unknowingly, it displays all the open tabs but in a mission control type way. Does anyone here know what the gesture is for that? It's useful, i'm just not sure how i'm triggering it. Can't seem to find the correct terminology to find it on Google either.

You're using Exposé to open the application windows. Have a look at the keyboard and you'll see the 3 squares on one of the function keys... there's an option in System Settings to change that to application windows only or the easier way is to look in the multi-touch gesture settings on the trackpad (two fingered pinch to zoom out).

Does anyone know of an app that can allow me to manage/close my open windows easily? I found one via Google called Hyperdock which allows you to see a preview of the open windows by hovering over the Dock icon (just like Windows). I don't wanna pay for it if there's a free alternative though

Just upgraded to Sierra as I was initially put off by the fact that Endnote reference manager wouldn't work properly. Our VM internet was seeming to get worse and worse and I'm sure that it was El Capitain that was causing network problems. So far, so good. The software update appears to make my connection to the router much more stable and finger crossed this will sort everything. Endnote appears to work still which is nice, although I think I'll need to update McAfee virus scan to version 10 for full functionality.

So far, so good.

I'm going to do a fresh install of 10.12.2 when I get into work shortly. It's always nic to have a fresh install now and again.

Can't say I've ever noticed a difference between a fresh install and an upgrade.
Agreed. I did a fresh install once after years of upgrades to see if I'd notice any difference and there really wasn't any. I truly think that you're wasting your time.

Finally install macOS Sierra. I'm glad I was able to turn off Siri from the get go! Also told Apple not to upload my documents to the iCloud, as I'd need to pay to upgrade. My documents folder has 24gb in it. I'm also on the verge of buying Google Drive space as well. So it wouldn't have gone down well!

However, what I find a little uneasy (despite me telling Apple not upload my stuff to the cloud) I now have 20gb more space free after the upgrade. I'm wondering what it deleted, hmmm.

Everything seems to be intact though!

Upgrade was smooth as expected. Laptop running really well so far :)

EDIT: MS Office wouldn't open afterwards. But I ran the auto-updater and it patched it, it's now working again!

Overall the laptop seems snappier. Graphically smoother as well. Impressed so far! Although I'm quite sure I am not utilising a single new feature from Sierra :p
