Madame Web (2024 - SSU)

Watched this last night. I was expecting bad, but it was horrendous. I even went as far as thinking this was worse than Morbius and I hated that.
I didn't notice this until someone had pointed it out it's the same writers as Morbius. That was bad enough but the exec rewarded them with a second film which was even worse. Where is the logic in that??

I haven't actually seen it yet to be fair so don't know yet to be sure

Not only Morbius and Madam Web, but other bangers such as God's of Egypt/Dracula Untold and The Last Witch Hunter......they must have some serious dirt on execs!

My kids saw it last night. The youngest, 9, said it was the worst film shes ever seen lol.
Seen it last night, worst I’ve seen at the cinema but not the worst. It’s the sort of thing they would throw on Sony/Great! Movies at 2am.

It’s sort of ok up until the bit where you see the bad guy in the present day and they sort of just give up with it after that.

I honestly think this was written by AI. There is no other explanation for such terrible generic storytelling and dialogue.

I reckon more of these films are AI generated than you realise.

Not yet. The writers union still has the AI stuff on lockdown AFAIK.

The people they hire just suck that bad.

Yet another female centric film aimed at a tiny female audience has flopped despite 55% of its box office coming from men. So as shown yet again, female audiences for these types of film just aren't large enough to be able to financially support these films. Hopefully at some point, studios will so desperate for money that they'll realise that creating superhero films for this genres mostly male audience might actually bring in more/some/any money, once sometime has passed to allow the burnt bridges between the fans and studios to be rebuilt of course.
