Madeleine McCann cops ask Home Office for more money to continue search for missing child

Oh wow, I wonder who could have knocked up this decade old factual website :D

PS, it's not hard to find the owner of that pbworks site and the links to Kate McCanns book sale.

I mean, there's plenty more "factual" information from reliable sources, such as this one:
https://whatreallyhappenedtomadeleinemccann.blogspot.com/2016/08/chapter-22-tennis-balls-photo.html

Was it the last photo Kate? Can't be that hard to remember? Oh yes, she magically lost any hint if a tan two days before the pool photo (even though you said this was the last photo of her).

Yes, yes you're right. I mean he says one thing, then immediately changes his mind to which day it was. Let me help you out here. Your child goes missing, you know exactly when and where you were, what she was wearing and what you were doing. You don't wash soft toys, ever. You don't clean out your hire car. You don't take unexplained trips in the immediate days after. And you certainly don't create a poxy "FACTS REBUTALE" website. I mean how amateurish is that?

Its a blog. The link posted by SexyGreyFox at least had the police transcripts. You want to believe some blogger over those. Sorry but you're too far down the rabbit hole. You are already wrong on your "facts" with the tennis claim but now you want to be taken seriously with a blog. Anyone can write a blog. This is climate denial like stuff. The MET have been at this for years and her parents haven't been their prime suspects at any point that we've been made aware of. You are just going with the, there is no smoke without fire.

Oh man oh man you are at MMJ levels right now.

On that website it says she couldn't have been playing tennis because she had the wrong shoes!!! She was THREE!

Now they have a formal suspect. Let's see where this goes.

Portuguese prosecutors say a man had been formally identified as a suspect in the disappearance of British toddler Madeleine McCann 15 years ago.

It is the first time Portuguese prosecutors have identified an official suspect in the case since Kate and Gerry McCann, Madeleine's parents, were named suspects in 2007. They were later cleared.

Madeleine disappeared from her bedroom on May 3, 2007, during a family holiday in Portugal's Algarve region while her parents were dining with friends nearby in the resort of Praia da Luz.

Prosecutors in Faro, Algarve's main city, did not publicly name the man but said in a statement he was identified as a suspect by German authorities at their request.

The suspect has not been charged with any crime related to the disappearance and he has denied any involvement. Prosecutors said the investigation had been carried out with cooperation from British and German authorities.

My opinion has always been that someone did a proper job of disposing of a body. I don't think any remains exist. Just a very high profile case.

This has gone beyond "waste of resources" now

To date, how much has this cost the taxpayer now?

An utterly mind boggling amount for a case that will never be solved and should have been put to bed about 10 years ago. Wasting millions in tax payer money and huge amounts of policing resources won't bring your daughter back or absolve you of the guilt of leaving her on her own all those years ago.

Parents were irrisponsible, drugged child, child gets murdered, parents put on big sob story, MILLIONS in public money spent.

They should send those parents to fight in Ukraine.

....maybe on the Russian side.

Feel sorry for that little girl.

Great job for the police investigators, regular trips to talk to local police. No progress.

Chief Inspector "Who wants to work on the McCann case?"

Inspector "Yeah, me please, my sun tan needs a top up"

No more public money should be wasted on this, if the McCann's want "answers" let them pay for it all now

(even though we know it was the parents all along).

That's what they said about Michael and Lindy, whose infant daughter disappeared from a campsite in 1980. Lindy insisted that a dingo had taken the baby, and the initial inquest supported her claims. But the Supreme Court quashed these findings and ordered a second inquest, which pointed the finger of blame at the parents.

Lindy was convicted of her daughter's murder, and imprisoned for 3 years. Michael was convicted of being an accessory after the fact.

In 1986, new evidence came to light. Michael and Lindy were pardoned in 1987, had their convictions quashed in 1988 (following the Morling Royal Commission into their case) and finally received compensation in 1992. But it still wasn't over, and the investigation continued.

A third inquest was held in 1995. It returned an open verdict. At the fourth and final inquest in 2012—32 years after the baby's disappearance—the coroner officially ruled that a dingo had indeed been responsible, citing new research into dingo attacks on infants and young children.

I can only shake my head at any suggestion that the parents are guilty. This would require them to pull off the crime of the century, within an impossible timeframe, including the disposal of the body in some way that cannot be detected by modern forensics.

All of this while surrounded by hundreds of potential witnesses in a very public place!

Then they co-operated with the police and urged them to pursue the investigation for well over a decade, spending unprecedented quantities of taxpayers' money in the process. Because that's what you do when you're guilty and want to conceal your crime, apparently!
