Although the first bolded line indicates an allowance for variation such as the one being played here but without knowing formulating a strategy becomes very difficult as it all just becomes guesswork.


There are Site Rules to which players must adhere.


Each games also has its own set of rules determined by the moderator. Generally, different games have similar rules. (The exceptions being games with more intricate game mechanics.)

During the day, everyone can post whatever accusations they like.

No players may talk outside of the game thread during the day phase.

Mafia members, masons, cult members, and some other groups may be able to talk outside the thread during the night phase.

Voting is generally done in some specific format (such as Vote: SomePlayer) to make it easier for the Moderator to keep count.

In most games, once someone reaches a majority that player is lynched and the moderator reveals that player's role.

Huh, fair enough, from the next game on we'll play it that way. I've always taught the rules the way I was taught. Guess that's the way misinformation and variants get spread!

Indeed. It's worth your time reading through Mafiascum's wiki. It has a lot of useful information on roles and what combinations to avoid, like Paranoid Gun Owner in a game with lots of active roles or Death Miller in absolutely any game ever. It also has the F11 setup, which is a basic closed setup 9-man game with four variations to keep players guessing without overwhelming them.
 
Thanks for the reply, though given the levels of interest I'm looking at stepping it up to a 13 player game so more people can take part. And in that game I will post reveals on death as well!
It's getting late, but tomorrow I'll pull together the info and go through the thread to see who is interested in joining.

Players from that first game, please also post again to confirm your interest if you would like to take part in game 2. Anyone who requested to join since the first game started will have priority (Including Brabbinho since he joined part way through) as well as Shamikebab as the consolation prize for being the day 1 lynch!
