Mafia II Thread

Iv been out of the console world for a few months now as i sold everything to pay for my motorbike test which i have now passed :)

Anyway my mrs is now off to town to get me a nice new 360 slim and a copy of mafia 2 today from a local inderpendant shop, So roll on this afternoon :)

It's not out untill tomorrow :( But none the less enjoy the new 360 =D

Hoping this will be better than the reviews, as I loved the first one!

Jcb33.

Unfortunately it's only 10hrs long and when completed lacks the freeride modes challenges and options of the original.

There is some sort of free roam in the exclusive PS3 dlc apparently, but I don't know how it compares.

I expect anyone who liked Mafia 1 will think its a decent game.

It just will not live up to the hype as with most games, (having read all of the reviews so far) people were expecting it be as revolutionary as the original Mafia was.

Yes decent, I have no issue with it being an evolution at all, only that things have been taken away and dumbed down.

I agree it's decent, nothing special. Just started chapter 7 iirc and quite enjoying the story. Not had any slowdown yet and the graphics are decent enough. There doesn't seem to be much depth to the game also, seems to be same stuff over and over so far.

Seems an enjoyable enough game, just sadly more forgettable than people will have hoped.

I'll wait for it to come down to £15 or so like Alan Wake :p (though I got that on release and loved it)

Picked mine up today.

Jumped straight in on Hard ! hope it dont cause me to much stress.

10 hours game play seems a little low. But glad really just played mass effect 2 and red dead back to back so a short game will be nice :p

It is basically a story driven game, the fact is has a big open world is just a bonus, the game isn't centered around it.

Think of it like any other 3rd person shooter with a really, really good storyline and decent enough gameplay, and you won't be disappointed.

If you buy it expecting a GTA/RdR style, you won't like it. Its brilliant in its own way.
