Magners - where's it all gone

It does seem to have taken off, but I'm not sure why - Its allright but nothing special tbh. Give me my Kopparberg any time :)

not tried the cider, did try the perry and that was 'orrible

It's been really popular in Northern Ireland for years. Good to see you lot over the water are finally catching up ;) Obviously that lesson in football wasn't the only thing the England supporters took away :D

Bah, I spent at least 5 minutes reading that huge quoted post and he can't even get the ingredients of snakebite right.

huh?

i believe he was referring to the more common (in these parts anyway) snakebite black variety. carling, stongbow and a dash of blackcurrent.

Yes, whats your point?

Snakebite and black (real name: diesel, aka purple nasty) doth not equal snakebite.

Snakebite is without black :)

In my experience this is entirely down to geographical differences. I was always raised by my peers to believe a "Snakebite" was Cider, Lager, Blackcurrant and a shot of vodka. I never came across anyone believing anything else until I went to uni, when almost nobody agreed, most saying without the vodka and perhaps 50% saying it was also sans blackcurrant.

There are a few things like that and really, as long as you get what you want at the bar, who cares? :)

i enjoy drinking magners, and it has become my new "best friend". only problem i have is how expensive it is ( £3.25 down here ).
i wonder if after the summer it will really struggle to sell. had a bottle on saturday night that they hadent put in the fridge, really tasted crap.

Great marketing campaign, sure marketing practitioners will love to study it, like the resurgence of once crap brands like Puma. However, this stuff seems crazy expensive for what it is - not even cheap in Wetherspoons...!

Magners isn't anything special, tastes not a lot different to any other cider, just they've somehow managed to make it 'cool'.
I'd rather have a pint of a different Cider as it's cheaper, or avoid the dirt altogether.

not sure how folks say it is down to marketing , its was very poular befoe any ads and marketing had even started , just a drab looking bottle shoved on the shelf with dozens of others
