Make some predictions for the future

Within 15 years we should start to have contact lenses that act as cameras but also have inbuilt screens for augmented reality.

in a couple of years, people will start to lose interest in newer mobile phones (as much as I love them) we are fast approaching the point of completion. We will soon then laugh at our former selves for following them so closely.

Consoles will be replaced by some all-in-wonder chip in sky boxes and TVs that plays games.

Home internet will be done over 4/5/6G. You will just get a router with an aerial. If you go away for the weekend, take it with you.

As we order more and more online. cities and large towns will have large 24 hour parcel collection points so instead of relying on home delivery that was made for music clubs and kay's catalogue, you will just go and collect your parcel. You'll turn up and say you are collecting a parcel from amazon and they will point you towards gate 44-50. Currently, loads of vans driving round housing estates all day, waiting in for deliveries, missing deliveries, being carded, paying for deliveries (you always pay one way or another), going to collect carded delivery. Why bother? It was ok for one-offs, not for regular purchases.

or to pinch a post from another current thread on missing parcels;

Theres always worse :D

Meh.

Technology advancements just mean more and more 'autistic' people are born. The reality is tech doesn't move that fast for average people.

Yes Pcs got quicker, but so what?! I got my first PC in 2000. The one I have now is quicker, but have they changed all that much?! NOPE

It's still a plastic box attached to a monitor.

Bendable screens is a novelty
4k is a pipe dream for the next 3-5 years (many still don't have HD tvs..)
Wearable tech...yeah for the autistic PC forum crowd.

Things will be more advanced, but not by a vast amount.

Microsoft will eventually lose the monopoly on the enterprise desktop market, android / Unix like appliances and servers will take over. This will drive arm servers and kill off x86 virtualisation in favour of small purpose built arm severs akin to the raspi.

Fusion power and batteries that recharge in a couple of seconds. I think the latter is coming sooner but these two combined would change so much.

In the future I shall no doubt still get called a noob in some future BF for shooting down someone in their heli

and that autism/aspergers is more widely accepted and accommodated for in main stream Schools

No need for NHS numbers, driver's license number, payroll number, library card, passport number etc - these will all be tied in with your NI number.

Wish this could be the case. The number of ID numbers people have seems to be going in the wrong direction at the moment.
