Making Drinks at Work...

Jeez, might as well just go back to school with megalomaniacal bosses like that.

Tell me about it. We're not even allowed proper cups/mugs, has to be in a container with a lid (i.e travel flask). Ironically, I've made more mess un-screwing the sodding lid, than i ever did with a normal cup :/

We don't do brew rounds as such in my office (5 of us), but instead we'll always make sure that the kettle is full to the brim with water before we boil it. That way, if anyone goes in soon after, they don't have to wait ages to boil it.

We don't make each other drinks, but we do invite each other to the kitchen and we'll make drinks and have a small break together. I much prefer that then having someone just be waiter for me.

Bit off topic as we cant drink teas and coffees at work, but ww have water bottles that some people will do for everyone who is working in the morning. I sometimes do them too when I have the time. It is just a nice polite thing...

But what annoys me is that when I work with my team leader and offer to help her she never returns any favors. But she is fairly lazy and will do anything to avoid working so I shouldn't be surprised about it. All other people I work with do favors if needed and I try to help anyone when I can...

Where do you work???

I generally avoid it now as nobody here likes their tea strong like me. I keep getting asked if there's a milk shortage.
Only 5 of us in here and my colleague usually makes it after our Sales Manager asks if he can hear the kettle boiling. He doesn't seem to mind.
The only person that won't do it is our manager. He even says we are spending too much on sugar and milk so he's supplied sweetners (yuck) and powdered milk (was binned a day later but we've not told him).
He likes his tea black with no sugar.

Theres between 4-6 of us in the office depending on the time of day and we have a drinks machine rather than make one ourselves. Our boss buys at least 3 rounds a day then we all take it in turns to get the extra ones in.

No real consistency here but no one that considers themselves above the others when it comes to making drinks.

1-2 will "put their orders in" but will also usually ask around if they do go to make a drink for themselves.

EDIT: As an aside while on the topic in my old job there was one guy that was always a bit obnoxious, overbearing and/or condescending towards me one day was trying to belittle me and wanted a cup of coffee so when I asked how he took it and he replied with "so I can stand a spoon in it" he literally got it so the spoon was standing in it, strangely didn't try to use me as a tea boy again.
