Malaysian Grand Prix 2010, Sepang - Race 3/19

rofl at all the EJ comments. I was making breakfast this morning so I could only listen to the pre race coverage, not watch it, and it sounds like I was extremely lucky!

Going to be a good race i think.

Interesting with the main players at the back of the grid.
I think if it rains, which it will, you will see kubica and petrov coming through and gaining some good points.

Race winner, im placing my bet on, either Webber or Sutil.
But i secretly want my boy vettel to get those tasty 25 points.

Poor EJ... Still he didn't seem to be too embarrased ;):p

I think tomorrow he will be wearing a lighter colour shirt lol.
DC had the right idea lol.

We laugh, but it was 31C and 60% humidity - I wouldnt fancy working outside in that! Of course, he should have been more prepared. He is quick enough to criticise others.

Race should be good tomorrow with the field so mixed up.

Have to say I'm kind of hoping Sutil takes out Vettel on turn 1, and Webber screws things up for himself - then the race would be wide open.

Hiro, why do you hate Red Bull so much lol.

Would be an epic win if Sutil got it. Cant wait

It's not that I dislike Red Bull - it's just that if they're at the front it's pretty much a lock on the top two steps of the podium unless there are reliability issues - with Red Bull out of the way it would be a race between Nico looking for his first ever win, the second tier teams (force india, renault and williams) and the big two fighting their way up from the back of the field.

If Vettel just storms ahead (like I imagine he would after getting past Rosberg and Webber) it's not quite as exciting. Sutil just seems the most likely to cause an incident, for the obvious reasons ;)

Then you are in luck - who here actually expects a red bull to win? So many things break on that car!

I'm expecting red bull to either have a car in 1st or 2nd at the end.

But who knows, rain could come, then cause havok with pit stops and judging it perfectly.

To many variables.
I think Sutil would be as gutsy into the 1st cornor as the other front runners. He will really be trying to keep it on the road to pick up good points, which as u say, might be the start of a incident.

The Mclarens will get into the points range no problem, with their 'F-duct' on the straights and high speed corners it has proven to give a good boost.

I was listening to 5 Live on the free practise sessions and they were talking about some of the new idea for next year.

18" wheels would mean less air in the types to heat up and this would counteract the rule of removing tyre warmers.

Turbo, Kers or some push to pass button would be great to see.
One guy uses the push to pass then then is taken straight back as the passed guy uses his boost. (could prove to be entertaining.)

Next year is sounding pretty good lol :P

I haven't read the whole thread, but in case it hasn't been mentioned, the race continues over on BBC2 from 9.55am.

So BBC1 8am-10am, then switch to BBC 2 which overlaps from 9.55am to 11.10am.

Was just about to point the very same thing out myself :)

Looking forward to this a great deal. The grid positions and weather make a great recipe for an exciting race

Easter Sunday church stuff.

I think that even though Vettel and Webber are likely to do a runner, the mid field battles will be spectacular - I just hope that the director does a good job in choosing which scraps to follow!

We must have good odds on a Safety Car at some point don't you think? Which should drag the Red Bulls back to the rest of the field (assuming they haven't broken down by that point...)

It should be a great race as long as it doesn't rain too much to the point it ruins the racing, a safety car start followed by 2 hours of safety car then stopping it would be boring, hopefully rain does come but passes over quickly so the track is wet enough to make the race more exciting but doesn't turn it into a boat race. It could be an awesome race watching the McLarens and Ferraris make their way up into the points, especially if there is some teammate battles. I can't see red bull not getting a 1-2 though unless their reliability bad luck continues, hopefully Rosberg doesn't make it easy though, and maybe Schumacher will be able to show us some magic too :) .

Can't wait :D.
