Malaysian Grand Prix 2011, Sepang International Circuit - Race 2/19

Hats off to Renault - awesome drive from Heidi! Good drive from Button. First points for Mercedes from Schui - finally!!

Good race, come on Mclaren & Ferrari - we need more speed!!!

EDIT - Forgot Webber, great drive!!

And to all those questioning his selection pre season - THAT is why Renault turned to Nick Heidfeld. He can drive a car and drive it well enough to bring it home in a decent position.

No it shows how good the car actually is, unless you think all of a sudden Petrov found extra talent in the close season.

No he was slow BEFORE he pitted, watch the race again Button was catching him and people on here where saying Hamilton should let Button go. Button was faster before the stop.

Button went through a short phase of catching Hamilton, got to about 1.2s but then for whatever reason (presumably because the soft tyres were losing their edge) Hamilton starting gaining again by 1-2 tenths a lap consistently...

The 30KG makes no odds as the cars have a minimum weight. It doesn't even make a difference in terms of balance as the weight distribution is fixed too.

The only think it affects is the centre of gravity.

Good drive by Heidfeld. Also good to see MSc out perform ROS in ever session bar Q2.

Because he started to conserve the tyres instead of attempting a pass on his team mate, the same as Hamilton not bothering a pass on heidfeld earlier on.

Button just did a better job saving tyres, same with Alonso. He was controlling his tyres for the right moment, but stuffed his chance.

Being able to move 30Kg around - about 5% of total weight makes a huge difference to handling!!!
