Great race! Vettel just dominated as per Melbourne, Button very consistent and Heidfeld was superb holding off Webber on the final few laps. It must be said that Webber did incredibly well considering he stopped 4 times.

Kimi was never going to be driving that car and how many other 'reserve' guys kicking around out there without another drive do you think would have brought that car home in third place?

That's why Heidfeld got picked - he's not lightning fast but he's solid and dependable and he demonstrated that brilliantly today IMO.

They would have been calling him in based on the information they get fed back from the driver on tyres. The stuff we don't always hear. If he's happy to stay out longer he should say so.

Or is this yet again not being able to dictate what is going on, with the way tyres are this year they wouldn't pull a driver in with steady pace for no reason.
