The cars would most likely have had the same amount of fuel in at the start of the race.
Hamilton obviously used more fuel than Rosberg. How often at McLaren did we hear Lewis being told to fuel save compared to Button.
It was an advantage up until that point, he was pushing on for a large part of the race. Clearly he had a few laps less fuel than Rosberg. Brundle said it a lap of fuel is worth around 0.1s per lap. Yet despite this Rosberg stayed in touch. It wasn't until later he got the call to slow and save fuel and Rosberg was still with him.
Obviously if they didn't think it was worth so much gain to run so close to the wire all the cars would carry more fuel to not ever get to a fuel save scenario.
