Man of Honour Nomination....

I've been calling Stulid Stupid in my head for some time now, due to some ridiculous personal views he has posted in GD. I've had a search and can't find them, nor can remember exactly what he wrote. I rarely venture into the hardware forums, but good for him if he's helping lots of people out.

The problem with posting lots in GD and to a lesser extent Motors is that your opinion of people comes from the things you read in these subforums. This means if you get somebody, I shall make up a scenario to illustrate my point, with exceptional hardware knowledge who helps a lot of people but often wanders into GD to spout bizarre conspiracy theories and pops into Motors to explain how his Golf diesel is super fast, GD/Motors people will have him down as a plonker whereas those in the hardware forums will rightly beleive him to be an asset of the forum.

It is for this reason that votes simply wouldn't work - any GD'er will get a billion votes whereas a hardware guy with a casual interest in posting random stuff in GD will get none even though really GD is the least important subforum.

Nah it's just a healthy addiction we all have.:)

I wouldn't call it healthy ;)

Where does Stulid post such goodness?

Pretty much the entirity of hardware. Most days 90% of GH discussion where people asks for specs he's the first person to reply.

I spent about 1-2 months at the beginning of the year, posting specs etc... for people, and frankly it was impossible to get a better spec for the money faster than he can...

I'd vote for Stulid, Big-Wayne, Gareth and 5UB :p

You want to remove 5UB from being a Don so he can be a MoH? Controversial. :p

What's the doffed emcee between a moh ad a don?!

I'm not totally sure what you're asking here so I'm going to give an answer and hope it was to the right question; a MoH is someone who is viewed to have made an outstanding contribution to the forums over the past year or years, this can be in any sub-forum or a combination of the overall - there are no additional powers or responsibilities that go with this, you do get a shiny new avatar and the warm fuzzy feeling of recognition though. A Don is also an appointed position which is usually given to posters who have also made a good contribution to the forums and can be expected to uphold the rules fairly - you get a shiny new (and slightly larger) avatar, your name in bold in the users list, access to a few hidden subforums and the power to ban/edit/delete etc, normally there are nominated subforums that Dons and Admins are responsible for so those are the ones they tend to keep a closer eye on but RTMs or passing interest could mean they look at any subforum at all.

In either case it's always worth remembering that the poster is still human and will make mistakes, it seems that sometimes people expect the recipients of MoH or some sort of moderating position to be infallible when clearly that's unrealistic. It's the same sort of thing (although obviously at a much lower scale) that invites problems with politicians - holding people up as expected paragons of virtue effectively when ultimately they're simply people who suffer from the same problems as the rest of us.

warm fuzzy feeling
It Never goes away.

Speak for yourself :p

Quoted for Truth. :)

This translates as: "We're all fiddling our expense claims" :)

He did have some arguements with Drunkenmaster in graphics section where the latter is a heavyweight imo.
