Manchester United vs Liverpool 09/01/11 and other 3rd round FA Cup matches *SPOILERS*

Fact of the matter is. United with the Ref on side and a man advantage couldn't legitimately break down a side who only met their manager in regards to what he wants from this match at 9 this morning.

That penalty dive was a disgrace. FA should be able to ban retrospectively for dives, but they never would .. would be a shame to actually have a fair league wouldn't it.

You speak like Liverpool have never benefited from bad decisions or by players going down to easily. Gerrard on several occasions has won you some suspect decisions by going down too easily.

Indeed just see how many goals Liverpool have had from Gerrards dives, and how many points they have had as a result. Diving does pay off.

Anyway **** poor match. Debatable penalty, that any Liverpool fan would have took or been annoyed they did not get if the tables were turned. Still had another 88 minutes to equalise or win. Deserved red card as well

Compared to united who benefit from dodgy decisions about .. twice every game on average?

Btw was this the Jonjo Shelvey that Liverpool fans have been begging to be played on here? He looked pretty pants today, that shot from 50 yards was worse than John O'Shea.

yes its the same Shelvey. Hes very promising, but if you want to judge him entirely on the basis of a whacked shot and 20mins at 1-0 behind and a man down that's your choice.

Your 'bon mots' leave something to be desired if you're trying to raise the tone of discussion. ;)

What do you expect me (us) to say?
All the united fans here, bar about .. 1 i think. Spend every single game thread doing nothing but baiting liverpool, spurs, city, gooner, chealea fans.
And they'r allowed to get away with it week after week.

Possession at home against a 10man team, didn't do much with possession.
More shots probably came when reina saved about 10 shots in30 seconds.

United didn't deserve to win, nor liverpool

They created more clear-cut chances and should have had two legitimate penalties for fouls on Evans and Giggs in the second half.

United weren't great but Liverpool offered very little despite working well in the middle of the park. Liverpool had plenty of the ball to work with, even before Gerrard got sent off.

Howard Webb MOTM.

Was all over the pitch, had the assist for Yernited's goal. Bossed midfield, such was his influence you'd think Gerrard wasn't even on the pitch. Was a danger with every set piece of the match and was only let down by his team mates to keep the score @ 1-0.

He didn't score a hat-trick when he come on, he's not going to make it in the big time mate.
