Going to Manchester Uni to see Milburn end of this month and then hopefully will be heading into town for a night out after the gig.

Never been up there before so if anyone has any recommendations on where to go at night and any ideas where we can stay for relatively cheap? It'll only be for one night.

What kind of night out are you looking for? Manc is a pretty poor night out tbh. Pretentiousness rules.

There are a couple of indie places that aren't bad apparently, and the Northern Qtr. is bringing the nightlife in the city up a lot :)

Yeh 5th Avenue or 42nd Street would probs be your best port of call. Oh and also The Late Rooms is good for indie aswell.

If it's indie you want they're the ones to go to really :)

Looking at you profile you're a student, 5th Ave and 42nd Street are more "Studenty" than the late rooms imo, very cheap drinks too. Go earlyish though as they're very popular and have massive queues normally :)

(Looking at your profile we share the same birthday too, sweet :D)

lol, yeh im a student. Not into indie myself, but never shy away from those venues as the drinks are always very cheap so cant go wrong really.

And November 24th RULES!

Trust me from experience Jabez Clegg is not somewhere I'd recommend.

One of my mates works there at the mo, but yeah I know what you mean, you can't really go wrong with fallowfield if you want a student night, if you are looking for a more clubby night you could go around oldham street and go towards sankys or the northen qtr.

If you just want a plain and simple night go along deansgate and then towards deansgate locks.

They are a lot of smaller clubs but with out being in manchester atm, I couldn't tell you if they were any good.

Canal Street ? ;)

One of the best nights out in Manchetser, tbh.

Decent bars, less likelihoof of some <expletive deleted> beating you up, good atmosphere in the bars.

Whats not to like?

Thats total bs, I have seen quite a few fights on canal street, my mate had to stop on from gettin out of hand when a guy was jumping up and down on some lads head.

I've only been to Manchester to see Spurs play a few times and one other time to see Robbie Williams.

I'm taking the wife there for a weekend staying in the Marriot, then going to see George Michael in November. She can't wait :)
