You are right the 1080 is a high end card... according to "The marketing of Nvidia". LOL

I'll Give you that the 1080Ti is a high end card. But the 1080 absolutely is not. It's slap bang in the middle of the Pascal Family. Just because when they released it first they "claimed" it was high end. It isn't. It's cut down. Ergo - mid range.

You quoted an image that said the 1080Ti was "mid-range" you now say it isn't but the 1080 is, so not sure what you are arguing about? The 1080 is pretty much on par with Vega 64, so is that a mid range card?

The 1080 is a high range GPU as it's priced that way but it is just an engineered mid range GPU (going by die size and TDP) but thanks to a lack of competition Nvidia can afford to bump it up into a different SKU and sell it for more money.

And anyone who says the 1080 or Vega 64 is not a midrange card. It is. It just is.

That's pure comedy.

A 1080Ti at around £600 is a 'midrange' graphics card! Nonsense.
That is the very top tier of [consumer] graphics cards.

The tiers are defined by the GPU's and the price points those equivalent products tend to fall into:
Entry = RX 560 / GTX1050Ti
Midrange = RX 580 / GTX 1060
Performance = RX Vega64 / GTX 1080
Enthusiast = N/A / GTX 1080Ti

Welcome to the real world.

According to you. Does it really matter either what we or others associate what bracket it is in? I for one firmly believe the 1080 and Vega 64 are "high end" but I will not lose any sleep over it :D
I actUALLY CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER NOW WH
Yup, Ti is def enthusiast with the Titan being Ultra.
LOL
Why not make the Ti Ultra and the titan super uber duber duber.

they will when loads of people give up on pc gaming. pcs are in huge decline anyway. our work just switched entirely to tablets and i know other businesses doing it.

They won't last long on tablets unless you get decent spec ones with keyboards.It started to happen at our work and they soon found out they were rubbish for workload and wanted laptops again. Find owt tablets not used gathering dust in draws. Even now we find desktop pcs out of stock delayed from our preferred manufacturer and have to wait up to six weeks for delivery due to demand. You can't compare gaming pcs people have on here to an office tablet.

This is getting silly now. Personally I like to class them by price. ~£200 odd is what I say is midrange, which the 480/580 originally fitted in before the entire mining spree. 1060 is in this as well. £150 and lower would be the low end spectrum. Anything above £300 I would say is about when you can start classing them as high end. Anything over £600 is the enthusiast cards.

Fits how I think also.

The thing is it's not a linear scale, there's hardly anything between 1080Ti and the Titan's in terms of performance whereas 1080Ti is massively faster than the rest. 1080 would be bottom of the high end for me with 1070 top of the mid-range.
