Marilyn Manson

It's certainly a bit strange. I mean I like Mansons music but...

Yeah I quite liked some of his early music. I was well into the alternative scene in the early 90, loved industrial music as well as more rave-centric dance music. Used to go to Slimelight in London every Saturday night where there were no shortage of people that made Manson look vanilla.

That's interesting to hear the lawyer saying the woman who was settled with earlier, the deal was put forward by the insurance company wanting to limit its losses since it was footing the legal costs which win or lose were mounting up.

Hilariously pragmatic. Screw being right or wrong, the sums say we'll save money by paying some cash right now if you agree it's settled.

That’s literally how an insurance company works.

But it is not the perception of settling a sexual abuse allegation.

Indeed the most visible article hilariously lists the accusations then says it was settled out of court with all the implications that go with it.

Actress Esmé Bianco and Marilyn Manson have reached an out-of-court settlement for the sexual assault lawsuit she filed against him and his business, Marilyn Manson Records, Inc., in 2021. The actress, who appeared on Game of Thrones, alleged the singer, whose real name is Brian Warner, had raped and battered her sexually; she also claimed he had violated California human trafficking laws. The terms of the agreement are unknown.

I've been inclined to believe all such settlements to be hush money since details are lacking. Yet here we are seeing a lawyer saying of a sexual abuse accusation that they gave in to the shakedown rather than fight it.

Whilst this is the case, what type of insurance pays out for allegations of sexual misconduct? Some sort of private liability insurance? Why would they ever offer cover for such a thing?
Professional indemnity insurance I imagine. His name is his brand effectively. I’m speculating but even if Manson is innocent presumably stuff would come out in the court hearing that would damage his reputation so settling works in both parties’ interests.

the most visible article from rolling stone, the rag that's been pushing the lies for months. if you'd bothered to read the link i posted you would have seen this:
"When asked whether the settlement was a way to financially compensate an alleged victim in order for them to “quietly go away,” King tells Page Six that Bianco was the only one who has gotten paid and that she got a “fraction” of what she was asking for.
“It was paid for primarily by an insurance company,” the top Hollywood attorney adds. “Had we known that Smithline was going to come forward with this type of information, Brian would not have paid a cent even if it was insurance company money.“We were facing months and months of legal fees, the insurance money was running out and the insurance company offered to pay a significant portion of the settlement,” he further explains."

i was totally against paying that woman anything but it's a tactical move when you're bleeding money left and right that lets him concentrate on the major instigators, evan and illma. the fact "horrendously abused" bianco let all her claims go for a few pennies in her pocket should tell you everything you need to know.
