Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Bench Thread

Yup we all know AMD are better for rasterization and nvidia for RT so not sure why so against showing RT results? (the provided reason is not logical for this day and age and an "enthusiast" forum.... go back 2-3 years ago, sure, perfectly valid then) and good point raised earlier about consoles with them supporting RT, maybe PC is the inferior platform now..... :o

PS. someone go and make a FC 6 benchmark thread and say the HD texture pack has to be disabled because 95% of the GPUs don't "support" it according to ubi and Matt's logic ;) :p

Hello there!

Thank you for continuing to share your reports with us regarding the blurry textures experienced in-game. I'd like to reach out to you all with an update from the investigation. The development team have been looking at this issue further, and they will be deploying a fix in a future update! We don't yet have a confirmed ETA for when this fix will be released. Rest assured that once we have more details to share, they will be posted within this thread and via patch notes within the News & Announcements forum as soon as they are made available

Please note that if you are using a GPU with anything under 12GB VRAM, you will not be able to use the pack correctly. This is part of our minimum requirements. If you have less that 12GB of VRAM available, we would recommend uninstalling the HD texture pack. You can do this by checking the "Owned DLC" section for an uninstall button. If this option isn't there, you will need to upload your save file to the Cloud in New Game, then uninstall the game. Afterwards, reinstall the game, making sure not to select the HD Texture Pack, and then download your game save from the Cloud.

If you have over 12GB VRAM but under 16GB VRAM, please lower your graphics settings to 'High.'

This game review will explain the issues and shows many cards tested with RT on and off and then cards with RT and DLSS.

Guardians of the Galaxy PC Performance, Ray Tracing + DLSS

A 3070 beats the AMD 6900xt at all resolutions with ultra settings and ultra RT..

Please watch the full video and then you get a better idea of the performance with RT on and off and the resolutions used in the video.

It does appear to be a new low from both AMD and @LtMatt.

By default its turned OFF in this title at the ULTRA settings, which is the point LTMatt is making. However i do agree there should be another set of results with RT enabled.
Yup, that’s the reason and reserved posts are there to add RT sections if there is enough interest. Instead folks would rather derail, troll and make personal attacks instead that are completely unrelated to the topic. It’s disappointing that rules are not always fairly applied also since this would not be tolerated in other threads.

Regardless, I’ll be posting some benchmark scores tomorrow from some of my graphic cards that don’t have dedicated RT cores that would otherwise be unsupported.

A reminder that I am here as a user and enthusiast of hardware and overclocking only. I represented AMD back in 2014 on this forum, hence why I had a different name. I no longer represent them here so I have my old username back that I had long before that.

It’s a benchmark thread for a bit of fun, it’s not life and death. I can’t understand why a score generated by a piece of hardware causes such emotion in some.

Well it seems to me that demand/interest for ray tracing results are there now given everyone in this thread has said the same?

If just for fun, then where's the harm?

I think it's also worth remembering that @LtMatt has some top 3dmark scores with AMD hardware while also admitting receiving samples from contacts.

Pot or kettle?

Why is there no ladder for tests with RT on.

You should have ladders for both RT on and RT off.

Not using DLSS and FSR I can understand as they are doing wildly different things, but RT is RT, there is no reason not to have a 1080/1440/2160 ladder for RT on in addition to your existing RT off

As I said at the start, If we get plenty of contributions I’ll add more sections.

Until then I won’t be putting anymore work into updating this thread since it has been completely derailed with off topic posts and personal attacks.

A benchmark thread is for posting scores and that’s about it, but this is largely pointless now.

TBF, you haven't really got anyone to blame but yourself here, all you had/have to do was have a ray tracing section added alongside rasterization, doesn't exactly require that much more effort.

No it is not a new `low` from AMD, this is not an official press release nor a thread, its from a forum user. Stop with the slander.

Thats video is now *void* on results as the driver to fix the flashing textures on AMD with RT enabled is now available.

Found what you mean here (thanks for the heads up):-

https://www.kitguru.net/gaming/domi...-the-galaxy-pc-performance-benchmark-rt-dlss/

Before getting to the benchmark data for every single GPU, it’s worth noting that we didn’t use the game’s built-in benchmark for our testing today. As you can see above, the built-in bench delivers frame rates up to 38% higher than what we saw while actually playing the game. Instead, for this analysis we benchmarked a section from the game’s first chapter, delivering data that was much more representative of what I saw over the two hours or-so that I played the game.

Worth a read but they didn't retest with RT on it seems in the updated results.
