Marvel Heroes

I got 2 random hero boxes early and was quite lucky getting Ms Marvel, Rocket Racoon and got Black Widow for free.

Playing through them all to mid 30's (already done Cap) and saving up 400 splinters probably for Thor. After that I'm not sure if I will have will to save up 400 again :p
 
Weekend event, if you haven't already noticed - collect 365 cake slices to get another 1st Anniversary Cake. Glorious lootsplosion with three guaranteed Uniques. You can grind 60-80 slices in one Bovineheim run and a decently geared party can knock out 200 in an hour of running Cosmic Kurse.

B1RTHDAY for 20 slices
MARVELRUSSIA for a buff glass.
 
I'd forget the cosmic kurse for the cake slices tbh, to to lower asgard and work near the fountain, if there's 3 or 4 of you there you can grind them out in no time.

I'll be hanging around there farming for a bit if anyone wants to find me
 
Can't blame them, once you'd been near the fountain it was quite obvious there was no-where else to go for cake, I'm not usually a guy who goes in for such things but after doing a circle around the edge of Lower Asgard and getting 10 slices, fighting one of the Captain on the approach to Malekith and getting 5 and then getting 25 just for dropping a Cage was here or Heroes for Hire now and again there really was no other way to do it, it was ridiculously broken.
 
If you're planning to drop the odd shekel on the game, all Hero Packs are 50% off during the Steam Sale. You get the hero, his personal STASH tab, one alternate costume and generally a Retcon and three Fortune Cards. The two larger packs get you multiples.

Note also that while Steam purchases and prices are localised, the content is bought as a code redeemable against any account. If you know someone trustworthy in Russia -or can open a Russian Steam account - you can get the X-Force pack for under $12.
 
I never thought I'd be excited to have a Nude Dude waiting for me when I got home from work. :D

People who have been playing him on Test Centre say that the best way to go is to stack cost reduction for Electromagnetic Flux. When you're not using EF, you'll want to be using Movement powers a lot and using Deconstruction/Reconstruction in rotation. He's not Strange-levels of piano playing, but he does require some coordination.
 
Just recently started playing this, although I made an account a few months ago. I'm enjoying leveling atm, and have managed to scrape together 4 heroes to play with.

Thing, Daredevil, Thor, and Wolverine. Got Thor from a random hero splinter box, and Wolverine from a free box giveaway from OnRPG.

Only negative for me is that there are so much crafting stuff, and items you need to store, you really need extra storage to put it all in ( I have over 30 different runes alone ), then there are all the relics, elements etc. Even worse is that all the inventory is shared, so half my inventory has items for my other heroes (just as well I only have 4 atm).

I suppose its the same as many of these ftp games, in that they try and force people to buy storage. In some ways you can't really blame dev's for trying to pay the bills. It's a pity there appears to be no option to swap splinters for storage.

Was nice getting a free stash from the anniversary gift, although I filled most of it from the contents of the anniversary gifts :p

Do you not think it is fair to pay them at least a little bit for a frankly very good game?

Don't bother picking up anything less than Pure elements. It's dirt cheap to split them into components for anything you might need, and they multiply exponentially so you only really need two stacks of everything.

When it comes to stash space, you can cope with two Crafting tabs and two regular Stash tabs. One Crafting tab will hold all your elements and cores, the other holds all your runes. The two Stash tabs hold uniques, rare artifacts, relics (12 types, and you'll never fill a stack before giving some to a hero), good blue/purple Insignias, purple/Cosmic rings and Cosmic Medallions. You may want to hold onto Cosmic slot items if they get a really good roll - +1 to tree, +8 to several key skills, or huge stat buffs - but mostly you can donate them or vend them. Loot rains from the skies in this game.

Thanks for the detailed info :) I've tried to limit some of the items, but I have a stash with loads of stuff I haven't used or can't use yet. Like the anniversary items / cake etc, also have a load of buffs I've not used.

Tried another random hero box end of last night, and picked up Invisible Woman. Forum posts don't really put her in a good light, but I'm enjoying playing her (lvl 20 so far).

Wolv 39 - Thing 33 - DD 21 - Thor 21 - IW 20.

Maybe I'll save for Silver Surfer next, some people seem to have already gone to lvl 60 -> prestige, then lvl'd to 60 again already lol. Either that or I'll just random / maybe pickup a team-up.
 
Silver Surfer is a let down, his movement animation looks awful and his animations in general are fidgety at best. What a shame. :/

Really? I get the impression that people are more than happy with him. There is a lot of Silver Surfer love in the air just now.
 
I'm 42 on Cap and Ms Marvel.

Playing through Widow now only around 14 though and I still have Hawkeye (urgh) and Racoon to play. Saving shards for either Thor or Luke Cage.

In game tag is The_Newts, give me a shout if you fancy teaming up though I'm not on hugely often with work and dota2.

What level have you reached with him ? I'm just short of level 30 and find his play style superb fun. The actual character model and animation is right up there amongst the best ingame.

Out of all the recent heroes released, Psylocke and Invisible woman being really disappointing I was worried but can honestly say, so far, Silver Surfer is a 9/10!

He's new and he's shiny and his VFX are great. This is leading a lot of people to overlook several major bugs with his animations, his poorly designed uniques, and the fact that he is both the squishiest character and the worst boss killer in the game. I personally also hate his play style.
