Marvel Studios: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Good episode but that was one of the worst 'stunt double looks nothing like the star' moments, when he easy training with the shield.

This is a huge miss for me. Boring AF.
Crap characters. Crap story.
Almost as bad as black panther.

I've not liked some of the earlier episodes, but rather enjoyed this one.

Someone mentioned above that Sam will be the new Cap, so could it not be some kind of Cap Am suit in the case?

Surely it must be as his own wings got broken in the fight with Walker. in the comics he has 'hard light' wings, and possible a vibranium suit too giving him enhanced strength and agility?

I hope they stick to the comics and it's his new Vibranium weave suit with the hard light 'holo-wings' which is, if I remember correctly, all controlled cybernetically.

My guess is a
A Captain America suit made from the same stuff Black Panther's suit was made out of.

This episode was the worst yet, started off well but halfway through turned into the dullest race relations drama ever. If I wanted to watch that **** I'd watch a documentary on Malcolm X or MLK. They're really just shoe-horning Anthony Mackie into the cap role in such a clumsy and ignorant way to make it a race problem if you don't like it that i somehow think it'll backfire.

Same for me, I quit part way through episode 3. If Loki is good at least it’ll be 2 good for 1 crap with Disney’s new shows.

Forget a new set of equipment or powers, to me the really interesting part of this all is what the hell does a new Cap stand for?

Steve was inherently good and decent, so much so that he abandoned the shield because governments couldn't be trusted.

I don't think Sam is quite as 'good' as Steve, although obviously still a decent human being. Sam clearly has a lot of compassion for others. But then it begs the question, how can he pick up the mantle especially given the things he's been learning over the course of the series.

I have a couple of ideas about what he may end up doing, what he fights for and how he ends up doing it. There will be things that both Steve and Sam could do that the others cannot, and that's what I hope they explore.

He was against the Sokovia accords so I find it unlikely he will put himself under any governments command. Independent contractor? Raises a question about income though!

Yes, exactly.

So can Captain America exist, merely representing the ‘Best of the USA’ or does Cap have to work for the government? They already point out... technically the government doesn’t really own the shield legally.

I can only see him working for the man if he thinks it needs to happen for the greater good, and if he pushes for change. The narrative of all these films are that secret government agendas are bad though, so no doubt that won’t work.

All of this speaks to the debate about how superheroes would actually behave and be perceived in the real world. Kind of already covered in the Accords storylines, so again, be interesting to see if the MCU can bring a fresh take on this in the next phase.

I've enjoyed it so far. Not sure where this story takes us in the long run. Will we see a Mackie led Cap film? I find that a stretch. Chris Evans had really made the part his own and how well is a recast movie going to do? Hhhmm not sure.

WandaVision and Loki are supposedly tied into the next Doctor Strange movie and if that's a big change in focus I get how the TV shows start leading us toward and prepping the plot for that movie.

So have you all forgotten about Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Madam Hydra) who made a brief appearance at the start of the episode ?

Cheers all

Haha no, just trying to avoid specific spoilers :p

Marvel generally used a specific villain for each film, with it all building to Thanos at the end.

Maybe this time around, they will begin to build a team of villains that we will follow for another decade?

I had a nit-pick initially when I saw "Battle-Star's" apparent young age vs his E9 US Army rank (approx 20 years served making him 38+ vs the 25yo the actor looked) but holy hell I had no idea the actor playing him - Clé Bennett - was 50yo IRL, damn he looks great

He was born in '81, he's 39

He's DoB is reported at 1971 in numerous places and 1981 in others so I've no idea which age he is now :D I think Google themselves originally has his DoB wrong and it's only recently been corrected which has thrown out a few websites/searches like mine.
