I believe so, from my understanding theres a huge battle at the end against the collectors.

Just kidding. That's quite handy to know as i'm getting this on friday and probably wouldn't have bothered with ship upgrades :rolleyes:

I asked this before but didn't get a reply so perhaps no-one has tried it - what happens if you don't upgrade your ship? I can think of two instances where they are specifically mentioned in the end battle...

Ship Upgrades make a major difference later on in the game. To get more detail on what each upgrade is useful for, check ship upgrades section on the wiki.

The bare minimum you need to upgrade on the ship would be the shields, armor and guns to avoid getting completely bummed

There is one system with an asteriod belt where there are 3 different asteroids you can mine Element Zero on, I forget where though lol

Got this yesterday. Damn this game is good. Feels really polished, a lot better than ME1 imo. Runs and looks great, combat feels perfect and the biotic powers are much easier to use now.

Awesome game. Vanguard is great

Argh. This is still sitting in it's shrink wrap

Wanted to finish one more playthrough of ME1, which am about half way on, but haven't touched for days.

On top of that other half and I started up Star Trek Online last night.

And on top of that, I still need to finish God of War collection so I can sell it on!

Just not enough time, and I don't even try to play every game out there

I didn't end up finishing ME1. The slow-down annoyed me a bit too much and it the combat just felt too clunky. Definitely a good game and if i got to grips with the combat more, im sure i would have finished it, but ME2 is just much better and i don't feel like im missing out much having not finished ME1, yet anyway.

I just picked this up today - I finished the first one with a soldier. Is it worth it to use my soldier from ME1 to play through this or shall I start with a vanguard (that skill looks uber.)?

Not sure exactly what importing your character gives you. Think its a level up, some credits and some other stuff. Also it opens up different conversations.

I played as a soldier in ME1 and find the Vanguard to be much more fun. Biotic powers are actually useful and powerful this time round. Charge is cool
