Mass Effect 2 Review

I loved Mass Effect on the 360 and did all the achievements (along with Dead Rising the only game I've ever bothered doing this) including level 60. Though the graphics were a bit rough.

Can't make up my mind wether to get ME2 on the 360 or go for PC this time. How do you guys rate this on the xbox?

the game looks stunning compared to the first game on the xbox, there are next to no slow downs and the loading times are fine if you install to hard drive, i got it on my xbox just for the ease of use (as i have a decent pc) and dont feel i made the wrong choice at all

I think I've been mining too much - got hardly any element zero and 250000 for paladium and iridium and 100000 of platinum and nothin to upgrade.

I've managed to put 24 hours in so far - so much better than the first!

I mined every damn planet, it got really irritating and it made wish the Mako was still around.

I've had a bit of a playthrough, just picked up the convict.
Quite enjoying it although the cover system is sometimes rubbish. There's been a number of times i've been in cover and my character has just stood up for no reason:mad:
Have upgraded the guns, armour and scanner on my ship.
Where do you buy ammo for guns from?I'm constantly low on rockets or grenades!

You can't buy ammo, but you can buy ammo upgrades for your armour that will increase the amount of ammo you hold.

You buy it from one of the shops on one of the planets, think it's Ilium and then you go to your room on the ship and with the scroller, scroll across till it appears.

Yeah, honestly I think the only bad point about the game is the mining aspect.

Though I quickly realized that I'd got enough resources to get all the upgrades I needed, so there was no point scanning anymore other than to locate new missions.

I think they realized that a lot of the Mako missions in the first game were just plain annoying. Driving around to find bits, then entering a building that looked exactly the same everytime. I'm sure they will pick up on this and come up with something different for the third game, as it's the only thing thats being picked on in the near perfect reviews the game has been getting.

Worth picking up if you didn't get on with the 1st? I normally like these type of games, but I didn't even get 3 hours into the 1st one.

I love the little touches of humour in this, such as the souvenier pet (BG fans will get the reference) and the games salesman.

i love the advert on the Citadel for Hamlet being read by the Encore(sp), that had me in stitches for a bit was awsome.

Miles better than the first in terms of frame rate. I noticed one bit of slow down in the whole game and even that only lasted for < 1 second, the combat feels a lot smoother too, far more refined. I went for the 360 version as I'd rather play most of my games from a couch these days as I spend most of my days working at a desk!

Cool, xbox version it is then

Ok, I must get this. Had Mass Effect since release but only just got round to playing it through and I loved it. Played 10 hours straight yesterday!

Sounds similar to me, it was one saturday that i put in 12 odd hours and couldn't put it dow, was a magical game that was well told with characters you felt a connection with.

Haven't finished the 2nd one yet, like i said previously, i was disapointed with the lack of Ashley and Liara but apart from that the game is epic, especially the music!!
