*** Mass Effect 3 ***

I think the IT is very plausible and after looking at all the evidence I think its true. I do, however, believe they rushed it a bit. They messed up with the delivery at the end and could have made it absolutely perfect if the direction was better.

If you play the ME2 Arrival DLC, its almost entirely about indoctrination and its effects on people.
Shepard is knocked unconscious by indoctrinated people and kept that way for 48 hours in the presence of a Reaper artifact. The same artifact that has already indoctrinated the entire research population on the asteroid. How can Shepard resist this influence? He's just human.

That DLC was the last for ME2 and a precursor to ME3. Personally this all adds up for me, pointing toward indoctrination being a huge part of ME3 and the ending.

I used to think IT was what they had planned, but they would have said something by now...they are getting slaughtered by their most loyal fans!

I REALLY hope they do go with IT, as it is a brilliant concept and it really fits together well, and indeed for a time i was positive that they had planned it all along, but Biowares attitude and statements defending the ending as it is have ruled it out for me.

If I had been any more loyal than I was previous to DA2, I would have been one of those doofi dressed as a knight at their events screaming "woooh" and "yeaah", pumping my faux chainmail clad fist. They will always have those guys to fall back on.

I've zero faith left in that company and I don't think they could have come up with the brilliant and elaborate theories the community has, even if it was the intention at some point. Everything else aside, I think ego and generally having theirs heads up their buh-tocks will stop them running with the community driven , masterstroke of an ending.

Personally I think what happened is the ending we got was intended to imply indoctrination but not in an obvious way (hence the "everyone speculating" thing.) They intended, as they themselves have said, the ending to be open in ways of interpretation. However as I said in my previous post, I think it went wrong for them due to poor delivery in what seemed like a rushed job to get it out on schedule.

The indoctrination theory has too much weight behind it to be nothing but a coincidence. I think the reason they have not come out and said "lets put all this anger to bed, this is what happened etc" is because they don't want to finish the series by ending it on a public announcement- instead they'll straighten out the ending and deliver what they intended all along in the new better quality DLC.

Putting aside the state of the current ending, I think they went for the open IT for future DLC or another game entirely, instead of giving us the final epic fight we all thought we'd see.

I personally think the fans understood and sorted the ending out as it should be and actually EA have screwed it up.

It's only a matter of time if they don't fix it where some fan groups dev will hack it and do a better ending, although this could result with the in court, i suspect they would have plenty of support!

The new DLC kind of snuck out yesterday, I have yet to try it but it looks like a substantial FREE update :D 2 Maps, 4 characters, new objective and MOAR guns! Plus I think there are some new talents and passive skill slots.

Its only free because some mugs actually pay for the equipment packs :p

I will give it a shot in between playing Diablo 3. I actually quite enjoy playing multiplayer, i've got a lv700 n7 account and maxed most of the gold weapons, still quite a way to go on the n7 weapons though.

Just completed this, thoughts below:

+More of the same, usual strong storyline and characterisation
+Character models are good
+Decent framerate, 75-120fps throughout
+Learnt some technical lessons from ME2 – no uncrypted config file, able to change mouse sens in menu etc, and I only got stuck in the terrain once (inside the geth mainframe thingy where I managed to fall off the steps)
+Reasonable game length, took me ~28h
+War Fleet adds a bit of focus to your questing in terms of (seemingly) tangible rewards, although I'm not sure how much difference it actually made in the end
+Ending was better than expected
+Levels are generally well designed

-Side missions are very uninformative, using cluster/planet names inconsistently, not updating when you have obtained an quest item (so you have to check and remember what you’ve picked up during scanning etc)
-Side missions are too easily broken (or require a lot of lame linear backward and forwarding focussing on a single mission at a time to avoid the risk of them breaking). Good example would be when I got access to Tchunka, I had one main quest and two side quests available on the planet. So, rather than constantly travelling back and forth to the citadel, I tackle all three missions in succession (leaving the priority mission to last to try and avoid missing out on the side missions). Problem is, when I had done them all and returned to the citadel to ‘cash in my chips’, I discovered that the Citadel was under attack and I could no longer complete one of the sidemissions. I know this type of thing can happen in RPGs but it is highly frustrating.
-Aside from London, the texture quality is poor for a 2012 game, it’s all a bit 2008. VRAM usage stayed under 750MB throughout – smells like consolitus.
-The Citadel doesn’t feel as expansive as in ME1, they’ve tried to streamline it I guess but for example only having access to the Human embassy is disappointing
-New characters don’t feel quite as strong
-Only being able to use two teammates at once sucks, seems a bit pointless amassing this big crew and then only going in a team of three, especially on the final push. I don't think I ever used James, EDI or Liana unless I had to.
-Few continuity holes, no idea how someone in my squad for the final mission were able to make it back onto the Normandy in time for the end cutscene (especially considering according to radio chatter they were all wiped out)
-The whole Paragon/Renegade thing seems a bit underused, I still don't really understand what affect it has on things other than giving you the odd mouse click in cutscenes or conversation options (which I nearly always have both options anyway)
