****MASS EFFECT : ANDROMEDA****

Oh yeah - I don't want to see Cerberus AT ALL in the next game.

I'm confused how new ancient and powerful races can be introduced if it's set during the trilogy - surely they would have made themselves known by the end of ME3?

I only read a few things on the BW forums, so don't take my word for it - different reports show it's likely to be during Shepard's lifetime, so I guess there's still a chance it could be set in the far future after ME3?

Either way, the main plot could be a mess.

The galaxy went in cycles of the most powerful race getting destroyed every few thousand years so there is probably still a few we haven't heard about. I'm not sure about it being set during the trilogy either, I think they need a whole new story.

I've just read it takes place during the trilogy - just "in another part of the galaxy".
How the hell is that going to work? Especially with the emphasis being on exploration - which is what Gamble has said. Why would anything be more important than the Reapers during the trilogy time period?
IIRC, the Batarians were quite militant during this time.
You'd also have a load of small factions trying to sieze power or something, because that is what some people still do when there's a war on.

Maybe you're an Intelligence Agent, trying to sneak in somewhere and capture info on some other aspect of the war. There were many other people and many other ships in all that. Shepard's lot was just one small corner.

Well for one would not mind a game where you play garrus going against those merc groups on omega lol

Bioware- The main character won't just be 'Shepard 2.0'
First Promo- Faceless character in N7 armour. Game set during Shepard's lifetime.

Heard rumours it might be set during Shep's 2 year absence. Whatever they do, it isn't looking good atm....as has been said numerous times over the last few years, the series is dead if they don't fix the ending, and they haven't done that.

Every race deemed to be advanced enough(Pretty much space-flight capable), every 50,000 or so. Humans were around for the last invasion, but were deemed by the Reapers to be not advanced enough so were left alone.

I'm sure they said it would be a new Galaxy.

To be honest, in the 2 years that Shepherd was 'dead' the Reapers were not considered a serious threat by most of the Galaxy as the council told everyone that Sovereign was a Geth ship. And even when Shepherd was resurrected by the Lazarus project, hardly anyone believed the Collectors and Reapers were connected in any way.

So if it was set then, it could work fine.

I can see as some sort of special N7 team sent through some prototype mass relay that is able to send them to another galaxy (pretty much like Stargate Atlantis or something) - maybe with a task of exploring and finding new life and new civilisations or something.

Only question then would be what about existing races - how much will we see of krogan, quarians, turians, geth, asari... (nevermind hanar, volus and elcor).

Not sure if it would be in another galaxy because of this, but still hope it is.

Re: The graphics, I have enjoyed it and don't think they're bad, but do think they could do with a bit of a revamp. In particular the pre-rendered cutscenes were very noticeably both low quality and 30fps.... Plus it was so disappointing for me to see how low-resolution the Normandy model was, despite being such an important (and what should have been a really sexy) ship. But overall, I'm impressed with how good it looks for how little GPU horsepower it requires. I've definitely seen far worse looking games that use a lot more GPU power.

^Really difficult to hear what they're talking about, even with headphones unfortunately.

Thankfully more coverage has surfaced now & the question & answer session has been transcribed.

Mass Effect 4, where in the timeline is it? “It’s not called Mass Effect 4, damn it! What I will say is that (long sigh) you’re NOT playing as Shepard and Shepard is not a central part of the story, so you can assume whatever you need to assume from that. We want to give players new places to explore [and] uncharted areas that haven’t been explored before.” - Mike Gamble

Maybe the textures will join the 21st century in the next game.

Damn the uniform textures were awful up close in the previous games.

Well, let's hope they don't attempt to push out identical graphics yet again! In this regard (and especially in combination with what some called a lacklustre story) you can definitely see the argument for ME3 being a quick cashgrab.

I'll definitely get this but I'm keeping my expectations very low. I've been unable to forgive the ending to the last game after all this time. It haunts my every night as I lay in bed much like that TV show Lost.
