****MASS EFFECT : ANDROMEDA****

I'll definitely get this but I'm keeping my expectations very low. I've been unable to forgive the ending to the last game after all this time. It haunts my every night as I lay in bed much like that TV show Lost.

What did you make of the extended cut? I was happy that they made it a free DLC, but having experienced it I can't imagine how disappointed I'd have been if I had paid anything for it.

I have really enjoyed the ME series, but I wish they'd stop cutting game content to put into DLCs. Playing without the DLCs in Mass Effect 3 would have been like missing half the story.

I think I may have mentioned it before on here, but I'd really like to see something based around the first contact war. That period of history within the game always fascinated me.

Either way, I trust the team at BW to come up with something just as wonderful. Despite what people thought of how the trilogy was wrapped up, I still love all three games to death.

I agree the Mass Effect universe has huge potential, the echo of Babylon 5 often comes to mind when thinking about The first Contact War:cool: I miss B5:(

Bioware have finally got off their arses & put their coverage of the CDCC panel up on youtube, so no more straining to hear whats being said.

something odd maybe going off someone i know has just left for another job and Casey Hudson just gone .

Casey Hudson said:
“After what already feels like a lifetime of extraordinary experiences, I have decided to hit the reset button and move on from BioWare. I’ll take a much needed break, get perspective on what I really want to do with the next phase of my life, and eventually, take on a new set of challenges.

Though there’s never an easy time to make a change like this, I believe this is the best time for it. The foundation of our new IP in Edmonton is complete, and the team is ready to move forward into pre-production on a title that I think will redefine interactive entertainment. Development for the next Mass Effect game is well underway, with stunning assets and playable builds that prove the team is ready to deliver the best Mass Effect experience to date. And the Dragon Age: Inquisition team is putting the final touches on a truly ambitious title with some of the most beautiful visuals I’ve seen in a game.

But while I feel that the time has come, this is without a doubt the most difficult decision of my career. BioWare is as magical a place today as it was when I started. The projects we are working on are some of the most exciting and prestigious in the world. The talent in our teams is second to none. And the people here are some of my closest friends. I’ve spent more time with many of you than my own family, and I have enjoyed every day of it.”

Bit of a shocker with Casey Hudson leaving. Wonder if it's anything to do with EA? Obviously he's not going to burn any bridges by speaking publically about it.

Going to wait for reviews on this as Bioware are really not the company they once were unfortunately.

I agree with what your saying the sensible person would never pre-order and wait for reviews to hit first before buying especially in the wake of Watchdogs, X Rebirth, Rome 2 (at launch), Aliens Colonial Marines etc but for me Bioware have been very consistent with their delivery and execution of high quality games especially when it comes to the Mass Effect franchise.

To be fair, even with how poor ME3 was, a new entry in the series is always going to be worth playing tbh. Same with Dragon Age.

Come on ME3 wasn't that bad I know everyone moans about the ending but putting that to one side the mechanics and production values of the game were just as solid as ME2 and ahead of ME1.

I can't believe even now that people are still harping on about it. Deus Ex HR had an equally terrible ending. Actually, crap endings have always been a thing with games as far back as I can remember. :(

After the extended cut was done, I don't think the ME3 ending was *that* bad providing you had full war assets.

Sure, I wanted a "happily ever after" conclusion and didn't like the rubbish starchild part, but meh. I got over it.

I didn't mention the ending. It had far more problems than that, which I have already talked about earlier in the thread. No point going over it all again.

I didn't mind the ending, I just hated the broken promises.

Your decisions will matter they said, it'll be tailored to your own story they said..

Kill Rachni queen in ME1 or save it, doesn't matter, they give you the same in ME3. Was just disappointing.

I agree with you, but I reckon delivering on those promises was probably over-ambitious in the first place. :(
