Mass Effect playthrough, which class?

Surprised to see too ME3 first released in 2012 which makes it 4 years old plus EA still want £12 for The Citadel DLC, is it worth that much?
Depends on how much an entire DLC full of referential humour from the series sounds like it'd appeal to you. There are some nice character moments in the non-combat side of it, but the actual main plot doesn't go anywhere (interesting or otherwise). It's an entirely throwaway thing that plays off the nostalgia factor. I didn't get much out of it, but then I wasn't expecting to.

Finished 2 now and on to 3 although I royally flipped up - I was still on a hardcore renegade trip after immediately moving from ME1 to ME2 and left it too late to be nice to my crew mates and instigate a relationship. I was just starting to get some nice comments from Kelly when the bloody collectors stormed the ship and stole her! I actually ended the game having a relationship with no-one and had to look up the romance scene with Kelly on YouTube!

As with moving straight from ME1 to ME2 there are some changes I don't immediately like:

- My female Shepherd characters hair! In 1&2 it was tied back severely tight which made her look bad ass. Now it's loosely tied back and she looks too soft. All the other female characters look better in ME3 except mine! It's the little things eh?

- Planet exploration is now fairly non existent. I liked the moon buggy in ME1 and whilst I did get a bit bored after hours of scanning in ME2 it still felt like their were was reason to visit every planet. That's pretty much gone in ME3.

I'm still enjoying the game though and expect it to be awesome as the first 2 were. I have high hopes for the new one next year too...

I love the combat in 3, and Vanguard on 3 is sooooo fun! A bit OP when you hit the level cap, even on insanity, but it's still silly fun.

Vangard protip: Take the double nova: Use after a charge so you have half barrier after the first shot, then start your second nova blast but use a dash/roll to cancel out of it - while you're in the animation for Nova before you cancel out of it, you take 0 damage; by the time you've cancelled out your charge should have cooled down and you can use it again to deal damage, detonate and also refill your barrier. Rinse and repeat ;)

Nova can also detonate most primed targets, if not all, so if you've just sprayed a small group and charged in to them, any that didn't detonate with charge should do with the nova as it it has a bigger AoE. with a decent shotgun (or the M-11 suppressor which is stupidly strong) you can mop up large groups pretty damn fast.

Sorry, just really got back into ME, mostly due to this thread. Cannot wait for ME:A, if the IQ is upto par with BF1 (same engine I believe) we are in for a real treat :)

Just finished the Battle for Rannoch in ME3. One of the most exhilarating combat sections of all the series and that horribly conflicted ending (rest in spoilers).

After taking down three Geth Prime en route to the ledge then the dance with the Reaper (remember to stand still while targeting) I was confident I had enough Paragon to save both the Geth and Tali. Wrong! I jus sat there stunned as the slo-mo played and she toppled off the cliff. Got the RMB paragon click but that just gives you a cutscene of Shepard's outstretched hand and Tali is gone. Damn you Bioware for making such an emotionally hitting sequence in a computer game. I was actually still reflecting on this when I went to bed and couldn't get off to sleep thinking about it.

For god's sake man, it's only a game (or is it?).

Out of interest, is there any way to stop Tali topping herself or does it always play out that way? Given that Legion sacrifices himself too, I'm tempted to go back and make the alternate choice of destroying the geth, which doesn't cut quite so deep.

In answer to your question (major spoilers)
Yes, with enough paragon/renegade persuasion power you can get a more satisfactory outcome. I can't recall the exact options but I was able to resolve the dilemma in both my paragon and renegade playthroughs.

Yeah more spoilers, but if you're going to google how to get the best outcome, then you'll already know this:

You can save the Geth and Quarians! Legion still "dies", and Tali lives, But you have to have had a certain set of events take place the 3 games, and need max paragon I believe.

Had to lower the difficulty for the 1st time playing the Leviathan DLC to early :(

Had just basic weapons and skills. Having changed my class to "Adept" for ME3. Got stuck having to escort the stupid droid. Those stupid reaper enemies that fire rockets, two of those suckers or 3 of those fekers rekt me. Oh and the first banshee in that same area when I had like no health kits left and little ammo etc. :((

Re Tali and the Geth after Rannoch...

Well I couldn't settle after losing Tali so went back and re-started the Rannoch set of missions. This time I opted to disable the Geth, still not the right combination of events to save both but I feel much better! I've since found the sequence you need on Google so after finishing this playthrough, back to ME1 for another stab at it.

PS: Don't tell my missus, but since looking at those pictures of Tali unmasked, I have a massive crush on her!

Noooo!
I killed Tali at the end of ME2 - I didn't know she was going to die or that you would get to see her face in ME3!
Kinda makes me think I've spoiled ME3 a bit...
