Mass Effect playthrough, which class?

I can't replay them after ME3. I just find it impossible to care about anything that's happening, knowing where it all ends up.

Playing through #2 I was on the Citadel and spoke to a reporter. The Renegade mouse click appeared and I thought "what the heck" so clicked.

I actually said WTF out loud...didn't expect him to **** her in the face!!!!!

Honestly shocked lol

That's a little Easter Egg because you can also smack her in the face in Mass Effect 1, too. :D

The last section of 2, when they all (or all that's left) get off the Normandy SR-2 for the final assault, still makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Superb stuff.

That whole section of the game, from hitting the relay to finishing the game is one the best presented pieces of, well, game, ever imo. Never gets old, and there's always that bit tension as you could lose someone, even if you did all the things! Love it!

I played through each game (first) as Engineer. It's a bit weak in the first game but the drone you can in ME2 in great and when you add the turret to that in ME3 you're like a little one man army.

I haven't bothered with the movement commands for my squad. Aside from using their special abilities at the start of a fight I just keep them geared up with most up to date ammo, mods, armour, etc and let them get on with it. Don't know if I'm missing out or if this strategy will only get me so far...

How do I get more grenades by the way?

Just finished the Feros mission. Man I was so intrigued as to why everyone was acting strange! Amazing part of the game that whole level. The one thing I found a bit frustrating was that for just about every locker and one door, my decryption skill was too low. How do I upgrade this - I can't see it under the squad menu?

Probably best to concentrate on one squad member and level up their decryption. Tali is the best iirc. I think Kaiden is OK too. When choosing your squad there is a bar beneath the squad members that will tell you how high your decryption level is.

Thanks I never noticed that. Does is it actually say decryption or is this in with the Technical level?

Yeah Technical level. I can't remember the specific skills tbh. I think you need someone with the decryption skills as well... Been a while since I played it!

I started my own replay of the trilogy just over a week ago. Every previous playthrough has been as straight up Soldier, this time I've gone for Vanguard. Not sure it was the best choice as it renders the sniper and assault rifles useless. About halfway in now after running most of the side missions and now at Noveria to advance the main plot a bit more. Was going to try for 100% Paragon this time but this cuts off some of the side missions so it's just slightly higher than Renegade at present. I want enough dialogue skill to
keep Wrex alive at Virmire
.
Judging by the number of recent threads on Reddit ME1 is still a very popular game and definitely worth taking your time with on a trilogy marathon, rather than rushing through to 2. The combat is a bit clunky and even on normal level the enemies can be bullet sponges who can one or two hit the player character (snipers!) and the mapping is quirky - not noting the systems where the side missions are and not ticking off those you explored. But it is good fun and perfect way of passing the time waiting for the next instalment (and the price of Deus Ex Mankind to drop).
