Masterchef...

This week is comeback week! Well worth watching (or catchup on iPlayer) if you've followed Masterchef for a couple of years or so.

I only had a vague recollection of tonight's contestants. I'm really hoping they bring Emily Ludolf, one of the finalists from last year. Personally I really wanted her to win it.

What is it with scallops?

Every episode has at least one or more contestants cooking with scallops.

Yeah, they do turn up quite often.

The new timeslot is hopeless.

Greg "I can't wait to get my spoon into her pudding" Wallace is great fun.

John Torode is so deadpan serious.

And that wretched woman doing the voice overs with her endless.... Fact. Pointless rhetorical question. Fact. Pointless rhetorical question. Fact Pointless rhetorical question.

She has survived many series annoying the hell out of everyone, but will one of the production team finally crack and roast her by her own petard?

I lol'd at a lot of that. :D
Tbh, all you need to do is make an ace pudding, and Greg will send you through. That man gets extremely excited over good desserts.

It's true, many times he's acknowledged he has a sweet tooth. John Torodes is more critical, in fact he almost seems to dislike deserts.

My trick to fool the judges would be a meringue. Can't go wrong with that. Some parts sweet (i.e. the centre), other parts not.

I hate this program..

"Cooking doesn't get tougher than this" shouts one presenter at the other which seens to be what they do through the whole program.

Why cant they show a bloody shot with both of them in it.

Gah, the editing is excruciating and I doubt theres a future for the 'winner' tbh.

"What is it with scallops?"
It's because there technically difficult to cook and get right. Flavour balance is also importent as if there put with anything overpowering you "lose the scallop" and its just a waste of a dish.

Woman: "Can the contestants blah blah blah..."
Gregg: THIS IS SERIOUS COOKING JOHN!

Oh how I'd love to meet him in person.

I do enjoy this program (usually while I'm eating), But, Those two crack pots who run it get on my nerves.

JAMES THE HORSE GROOM IS BACK!!!!

Just watching tonight's episode again. I thought he'd be a finalist last year.

Love the show... but then I am quite sad in that I could watch UKTV Food all day long (and have!).
Anyone else notice tonight when that stupid girl burnt her hand it was her left as she was holding the oil in her right yet when it came to putting it under water/in the ice and bandaging it up it switched to her right? all very odd if you ask me!

I'm quite impressed with the amount John Torode manages to get on a fork, then stuff into his face and not choke. Despite my fingers being crossed :p

NOOOOO again he's not in the semis! Maybe he picks his nose when he's cooking, and the cameras don't show this.
