Match day food

If you dont mind me asking what kind of cancer you are suffering from.

Two people in my close circle of friends and family are currently suffering from Leaukemia, one is a 2 year old baby:(

Oh for a football stadium that sells decent food.
The fire alarms were going off at Ashton Gate yesterday cos the kitchen staff were burning things again. I never eat anything there unless it comes from a sealed packet. Subway sandwich is the way to go.

Sorry to hear about the big C.

I had a steak pie at Goodison yesterday and it was one of the best pies I've had at a football ground.

Everything else was terrible though. Obstructed view ticket:mad:, shipped 7 goals :eek:etc

This has got to be the 2nd worst away section in the premier league after St James Park.

Soft tissue Sarcoma (Synovial) that I had in my lung two years ago, been clean since and now it's spread to my brain.. had one tumour cut out but there are two that are there to stay. Radiotherapy at the mo, see if that gives me a little time but <1 year so I've got plenty to do!

2yr old baby, that's harsh :o I couldn't imagine outliving a child, it's hard enough to see my parents fretting over me :(

Not having experienced any other stadia, I can say I was happy with the food and general service at St Mary's and I will be going back again whilst I have the chance (although maybe when it's a little warmer!) :)

lol he knows (I hope) it was a one-off so next time will be different!Hey, glass half-full - I still have time to do all the things I wanted to, including the match yesterday so all isn't bad :) Looking at a trip mountain scaling in Scotland after the New Year if I'm still around!

Good on ya mate. :)

My best mate is in a very similar situation to you. Unfortunately he's never been the most motivated of people and he's taken it, literally, lying down. I really wanna just shake him up. I've asked him if there's anything he wanted to do, anything. He's just not @rsed. The docs told him he had 4 weeks, about 8 weeks ago. Now he's in a hospice and his meds are spot on, and the docs say he will more than likely see Christmas. It's still hard for him but if he doesn't want to talk I'm not going to force him.

Again, big respect to you and best wishes to your family. It's hard, but there's a lot of support out there if they (or you) need it.

hehe, the trip back, especially if its been a long day is always tiring, had the saints lost the trip would have seemed so much longer i can tell you :p

london, arsenal vs chelsea, charity sheild, but because of the teams most of the fans all went and came back the same way. shocking journey and we lost, but somehow still a good day.

as someone said, meeting up with friends, traveling, enjoying a game, talking about who needed shooting for incompetance on the way back. all part of the great game of football.

snip..

I know how he feels, it would be all too easy to give in and just let it all wash over to succumb. I suppose it depends on the sort of person you are, I have always been scared of the thought of death (someone flicking off your light switch = strange) and I want as much time with my wife and son as possible.

Give him his space, if he isn't up for stepping outside the circle then let him - some people seem not to be able to take it and turn inwards.. give him my best, tell him to hang on for Christmas (that's what my next mid-term goal is) and bathe in the joy of the family and eat loads of Turkey!!!

Cheers,
Marc

PS yes I a definitely looking at going to another match again, probably going to take my son to a Basingstoke match (hmm, maybe;)) and then another Saints home match - he loved it, and despite the photo the missus did too ;)

any reason, not having a go, just intrested, obv never sat in the away section myself

Mostly the view in the case of Everton and the poor seats. In the case of St James Park the hieght, you're miles from the pitch tucked away in the corner. Fans can affect games and having the away fans so far away gives the home team an unfair advantage IMO

Yeah they have the hardcore millwall fans immediately to the left of the away stand, always good fun.

on the left of us there was a little scrauny kid with an afro, and a fat fatherless scumbag in a yellow jumper with 2 ginger kids - he got the obvious chants!
Was even better when we were stood at the walkway to the station and he walked past to the train though..
All the hardcore fans on the right of us were a bit of a sad bunch, they wernt even watchin the footy, just maknig the intelligent gestures at us, was like a real life football factory really, had our stand in stitches, then they started pelting our lads with coins just cos they were losing .. :)

Dont think my heart will beat faster than when we were stood outside 'the globe' pub at london bridge, because my brothers friends spotted it and said lets go there, yea thats clever - its a millwall pub! luckily a local spotted us and told us to go round the corner were the rest of our lot where, dont know how we missed it, it was surrounded by police vans!
