Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

So does that mean you lose some or just have a load of 'free' cash to gamble away now before you get your withdrawable balance on the exchange.

I only mess around with csgo bets lol So thats 115 minus the free 5 I guess

Depends on whether you are making a qualifying bet or using a free bet. It's better when your lay bets win because you have greater liquidity in the exchange and the bookies see you as a profitable customer.

I just tried this for the first time and think I messed up.

I followed the instructions on fixtheodds, placed a £10 bet with 888 sport, then I had to put 3 bets on with smarkets. They told me how much to deposit, the amounts, and the odds, however when I come to the last bet I didn't have enough (1p short). I panicked at this point and just lowered the bet down a penny to suit, not thinking it would make much difference.

Have I screwed up? :(

OK I think I have worked out what's going on.

I have placed £10 with 888sport for Team A to win at 2.05 odds. I have then placed a lay bet with Smarkets of £14.38 (£23.23) for Team A to lose at 2.6151.

If Team A win I get my £10 bet back plus winnings of £10.50 and triple the odds in free bets (offer). If Team A lose I get my £23.23 back plus £14.38 winnings.

So overall, Team A lose I'm up £4.38. If Team A win I'm down £2.78 but have a ~£20 free bet to use as part of the 888sport offer.

Does this sound correct?

Nope. Just means that if you lost at the exchange you'll be 1p x the odds down.

Also, get away from Fixtheodds, they're rubbish. Use Profit Accumulator or Yesbets instead. Just fork out the sub fee, you'll make it back x20 if you dedicate yourself.

EDIT: this is referring to your "have i messed up" question.

Cheers for that Diddums, that makes sense.

I will check out those sites you suggested. I must admit I only read the first post of this thread (from 5 years ago!) before having a try.

I really rate YesBets. I've been doing it for nearly a month and cleared just under £600 now. The YesBets FB group is extremely helpful and active.
