Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

Gubbed on PP also. This is not good. Probably my most mugged account too.

Hardly surprising considering I did almost every single game for the MBS offer though :p

My gub list so far is Betbright (gubbed after signing up ), Boylesports (gubbed after I had a 20/1 horse win after few bets lol), Ladbrokes/Coral/Paddypower all post euros

I'm planning on starting matched betting again from around the 20th of this month and plan on using YesBets initially, at least whilst I find my feet, albeit I did matched betting back in 2007/08 and made a healthy sum, however I'm somewhat rusty!

If I start at the end of July and put in say 30 to 60 minutes a day, how much realistically without dedicating my entire life to it, could I make before the end of the year?

I know this is somewhat of a 'how long is a piece of string' esque question however I'd be keen to hear from people who have been doing it for a similar time period, putting in similar amounts of time to what I plan to do.

Yes it is a little 'how long is a piece of string'? I do a good few hours a week and average £200-400 a month, with this month being a rare exception (£1100 in 11 days).

Surprisingly I wasn't gubbed by PP yet, as I absolutely abused their euro offer

One thing you can be sure of with PP is the gubbing stick will find you sooner or later

On another note... how do you guys know when there are extra places paid in the horses?

It will usually be a major race meeting and they will be well advertised around the MB community and also on the bookie sites. For instance Goodwood is coming up this month so get your head around the process of e/w horse backing for extra places now and sit back and watch the pennies roll in

any guides to this?

Wonder if PP would still pay out extra places.. The gubbing email says no money back specials, free bets, best price guaranteed and other bonuses (probably the key bit).

Doesn't restrict stakes though unlike Coral.

Think its time my gf took up MBing... :D

Typically gubbings don't effect extra places as it's not an offer per se, so you will be fine.

And absolutely yes your GF should do it! My GF's accounts were way behind me as she started after me but this month has taken the mick!! She's now £40 behind and her accounts have earned 10 times more than mine in July :p:D.

Do you both do it from the same IP address / house? Is there no risk at getting banned / gubbed if your doing it twice on two different laptops in the same household?

My housemate has actually just started doing it and a few sites have picked up on the same IP. Between my GF's laptop, my phone, my home computer and another offsite (coupled with Teamviewer), no issue at all.

Thanks Doodah.

I take it the extra £1100 was due to the Euros?

Well, using your figures, say an average of £300 a month, would take me to £1500 by the end of the year, which isn't bad at all, though ideally I'm keen to make around £2500.

Are there any other big sporting events, similar to the euros coming up, where MB profits can be maximised?

As you can tell - I don't really follow sports :)

Yeah got £820 from the Euros with mine and my GF's accounts (around 2/3 with MB and the remaining 1/3 with a few punts), plus a big win on the extra places weekend just gone.

I think your target is very achievable, seen plenty of people do around the same. As for big events, I know the bookies will be doing the Olympics but haven't heard anything regarding MB. Goodwood on the last 4 days of the month should be a nice earner and various leagues will start returning next month.

I would suggest doing something like this; intro offers (easily £500, but £1000 is dooable), get on the horses in conjucntion with this ready for Goodward, learn accas (something I still haven't actually done yet) and by the time the football restarts you will be all sorted. Then use a combination of accas, football refunds and horse refunds as your staple :).

I will probably spend this month looking at the horse refunds quite a lot, as i only started 4 weeks ago so most of the £500 come from betting on euros and start up offers.

Thanks again Doodah.

Last time I stuck purely to footie offers but I appreciate I'll need to diversify to maximise returns.

Does YesBets help with Horse offers/matching? I'll Google ACCAS and see if I can get my head around it.

Any other sites or tools that might be useful - I'm all ears. :)

Quite a few here use YB but I use Profit Accumulator (PA) so I am a tad biased. I think the crux of it (someone please correct if I am wrong) is YB are good, have a decent community, are growing and more importantly are cheaper. I started with PA on its old pricing structure so pay £28 a month foe PA + their Match Catcher (MC) software. However by the sounds of it, it's not far off £40 a month for new subscribers which is a bit of a joke. PA also have a great community, excellent training guides and videos and I believe (from what I have read on here) their MC software is more refined. They also have an acca catcher and extra place catcher software in the pipeline.

Maybe sign up to both free subscriptions to get a feel.

Thanks, very helpful advice.

I'll probably do both! Can you still get cashback from sites such as Quidco when signing up to bookies and exchanges?

Or do you need to use the affiliate links put in place by say PA and YB?

I want to maximise all offers :)

Good question, honestly don't know.

EDIT - doesn't sound like it:

The majority of sign up offers won't work using a cashback link and it can void future bonuses too. I would recommend using these with extreme caution or not using them at all.
