Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

Good question, honestly don't know.

EDIT - doesn't sound like it:

Ah, okay, I'll probably just start out for the first month with YB or PA, find my feet and then look at horses and ACCAS.

Thanks for all the help Doodah, much appreciated.

No doubt I'll be back on the thread for further help in the future. :p

Yes you can, I've had a few quidco cashbacks from signups and still had the bonuses. 188Bet and Mecca Bingo off the top of my head. Couple more I can't remember!

Whether you take the risk or not is up to you :)

Where does the risk lie though in signing up through cashback sites, what am I missing?

Yeah, likewise (risk,/missing)?

No worries :) - I still ask questions quite often on PA forums :p

No idea, was just going off what doodah quoted above re possibly voiding future bonuses. I don't see how it could, I'd say the only risk is refusing cashback (i've had quidco refuse cashback when signing up to subscriptions or making purchases with offer codes but don't see how it could affect the offer on the bookie site)

They always have links in the OP but I presumed these were just plain links? Shall we not have been using them?

Well, if they are affiliate, then the bookie knows you're coming from a MB site, but if they're just plain vanilla links then they should be fine.

To be honest, when I used PA before, I suspect they were affiliate links, but I'm not 100% sure.

How does PA or YesBets keep track of offers you've completed, do you enter this manually or does the site track it, itself?

Well to be honest I have opened 90% of my links from the OP, despite having a few gubbings under my belt - I would expect a lot more.

The only reason people start sites like PA and Yesbets is for cash. Why would they give you a vanilla link if they can earn a few pennies off of each click? That's madness.

Is it really worth the risk? It takes a second to type in a URL. Then again I've been doing this for 18 months and have only been gubbed by one bookmaker so maybe I'm right, who knows.

Fair point, I was completely oblivious to it. Noted (though as we have both said, probably doesn't have that big an impact).

Well, I'm assuming sites like PA and YB are still beneficial, even if you exclude using their links, or does this nullify the usefulness of the site?

I assume the sites will still serve you offers, provide odds, guidance etc?

May as well use cashback sites and net the money yourself instead of using the affiliate links and netting the MB site more money on top of your subscription.

With PA, you manually 'tick' off completing an offer with your account. I believe it's YB or OM that track it automatically, so not sure with this.
