Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

Gubbed from Betfair Sportsbook this morning. First time logging on in a few days.

Not like I earned much from them during the Euros and I'd only hit a few horse refunds so far really. This is barely worth doing anymore :/

I don't understand how people are making 500+ monthly, majority of sites aren't stupid and you'll end up gubbed with most eventually.

Got 365 gubbed this morning.

Think its down to 2 things. 1) I've only put £200 in, but taken 800 out and still have 700 in there. However, i was gubbed moments after placing a £50 bet on one of the channel 4/1 races today at high odds.

Oddly, though limited I can still take part in that offer and some others. Seems its things like the £50 in play one on football that I'm going to miss out on.

Not too worried though as 6 or 7 times now I've won £9-10 at bet365 on normal bets where I was expecting to lose 50p or so, just because there was a reduction factor at the exchange but no rule4 at bet365.

What is rule 4? Seen it pop up a few times?

Gutted about 365 - gubbing can be so abrupt/random at times, quite a few companies I really would have expected the gubbing hammer but nothing yet.

Edit - heads up, Sky seem to be dishing out a few gubbings.

Had the same with mine a while back, gambled for years but a touch of MB and they gubbed me quick time. GF's account has been restricted so just a matter of time.

EDIT - just had an email from bet365, thought it was 'the' email, fortunately it was just about responsible gambling :D

EDIT2 - RE Sky

I have a friend who works in the trading department. They were tasked with gubbing and 0.1% limiting 98% of unprofitable accounts this morning. He gave me a heads up to allow me to get on as many mug accas as I could before the cull

Anyone use Yesbet's casino thingy? Any feedback? Are there free sources for this info? Can we share an account? If I wore a dress, would you think I'm attractive?

Just started to dip into Arbitrage betting.

By no means am I a veteran at this yet, but I have made a small profit so far (around 30 quid).

I am only doing it with my PP account (after they gubbed me), laid on Smarkets.

Principle is sound, but there is an element of the gamble to it (relying on horse odds drifting one way or the other after the initial bets are loaded).

I expect traders are much more competent at this and are able to predict with a high success rate odds movement based upon the ladder, but at the moment I follow a couple of 'tipsters' on twitter who predict odds movement for horses in a number of races. 9/10 they have been right so far, the size of the movement does vary though significantly.

It is also kinda time specific, the back or the lay (depending on the direction of the drift)sometimes needs nailing down 5 minutes pre-post.

Its one I am exploring to supplement MB as well.

MB and AB (for me anyways) isnt about the income. Dont get me wrong, its a nice bonus, I find it genuinely interesting though. The different mechanics to squeeze profit from the bookies from the simple free bet (back and lay) to the more complicated methods (ACCA refunds, IF calculator etc).

Does anyone know whether I can use Quidco and a Betfair referral when signing up my family member for an account?

I've read mixed stories, some people seem to have got both, others only one.

I guess the referral would be the most profitable in the long run due to the % earnings my account will earn.

Answered my own question, you can only use one promo code on signup with Betfair, so used my referral code for my mothers account.

Placed my first bet last night, using YB and it was on a horse race, the first time I've done this, but the principal is obviously the same, back and lay.

Out of interest, how many matched bets do people have on the go at the same time, I assume this will be balance/cashflow dependent?

Also, which bookies are generally regarded as being the best to keep an account with and avoid being mugged?

I've put a small amount of money aside for mug betting and want to use it where I'll see most benefit.

Thanks as I didn't have a clue lol.

Don't forget Matchbook have started doing horses and have 0% commission for the rest of the month.

Have as many bets as you can afford to have on the go at once.
Keep in mind that if you have multiple lays on one exchange the liquidity is lower (I have not explained this well here!).

Bet365 is by far the best bookmaker. They have £50 horse racing offers most days.
I also regard Coral and Paddypower highly too

Been gubbed from Coral and was gubbed from Stan James in less than 2 days (instagubbed?). Not sure what happened with Stan James as only made 3 bets one being the free one. Time to move onto the next offers.
