Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

racinglaybets is nothing more than the roulette strategy applied to horses. Backed up by the fact that I heard yesterday their tip was against the second favourite on an event it is known to do well at.....and it came in surprise surprise. In fact, some of the better known sites had it down as the favourite. Why on earth did they tip such a good horse to lose? This is nothing more than gambling and has no place in this thread imho. Granted if they have access to years worths of statistical data piped through one of betfairs trading apps then I could 'maybe' see the point. They don't! and considering they email in the morning, they don't have enough time to watch the markets reaction to see where the moneys going.

1st Day £25 lay on Horse at 10/1 Loses +£25
2nd Day £25 lay on Horse at 10/1 Loses +£25
3rd Day £25 lay on Horse at 10/1 Loses +£25
4th Day £25 lay on Horse at 10/1 Loses +£25
5th Day £25 lay on Horse at 10/1 Loses +£25
6th Day £25 lay on Horse at 10/1 Loses +£25
7th Day £25 lay on Horse at 10/1 Loses +£25
8th Day £25 lay on Horse at 10/1 Loses +£25
9th Day £25 lay on Horse at 10/1 Loses +£25
10th Day £25 lay on Horse at 10/1 Wins -£250

Total = -£25

You need a constant long period of loses to make any money, so luck is involved. You might as well do the same thing on the roulette wheel by playing 90% of the board. You'd be done quicker without paying a £40 a month subscription.

Don't go chasing money guys, the people that do always come unstuck at some point. Play the long game, back and lay on the odds and take the small regular profits.

The times I have gambled, or overlayed bets on "sure things" is the time I have lost money. The big profits come from chugging away day after day on things like High 5s.

I last tried matched betting around 8-10 years ago, I made about £400 in a 6 month period but if I remember rightly, the bonus offers soon dried up.

Is it a different ball game now, I guess the amount of online bookies has increased.

Also, is it worth subscribing to yesbets?

It must have changed since then. I've made £2,000 in four months spending 10mins a day on the signups. When you have completed them all, hit the horse reloads. If multi accounting, £100 per day is doable.

There are a huge number of smaller bookies nowadays which periodically offer pretty decent enhanced new customer sign up offers. Reloads (i.e. deals for already-registered customers) can be very profitable. One guy on Yesbets has cleared about £500 this month mostly on horse reloads and the odd football reload.

I can heartily recommend signing up to yesbets. Their platform is very straight forward to use after the first 2 or 3 run throughs, and their odds matcher is fantastic i.e. scans all the bookies and exchanges for the most profitable bets. They have a very active Facebook group which you will get access to, and everyone notifies everyone of what is on for the day, tips on the best reloads to go for and any other random offers that crop up. The cost is trivial - £14.99 will be earnt back in the first day if you start just one new sign up offer.

Did a similar thing as you a few years back, £400 or so over a number of months.

Chances are there will be a lot more bookies that you haven't signed up to, on a bad day there is up to £1,000 of free bets from the sign ups and potentially up to £1,500 if you include the less desirable ones (e.g. bet365, 10Bet and Sportingbet are worth £500 alone).

Definitely worth subscribing to one of the big three websites, I use Profit Accumulator but their prices are quite high compared to the others!

Thinking of giving this a go, i already have accounts at most of the bigger bookies, will using something like yesbets still work out profitable for existing accounts?

If you can get your head around reloads, that's where the long term money is at. Again, something like Yesbets has a Facebook group and will help you out as much as you need.

i went on facebook and searched yesbets and liked the page, no posts since May though, guess i'm missing something!

worth the £14.99?

If you can't make £15 on your first day (let alone month) there's something wrong with you :D

£500 in the first month without breaking a sweat minus £14.99 is £485.01

so ask yourself if you want £485.01 or not

The only sticking point, is you do need a few hundred in your exchange to start with to cover your bets off. £400 is a good place for a beginner.

I think i've done my first one, signed up on boyle sports, added more funds to my betfair exchange account (added £50 as thats what it adviseD) and added £20 into the boyle sports one. put a bet on horse using their site, waiting for my free bets to continue.
Do you guys normally have a handfull of bets at a time?

Do whatever you are comfortable with

I sat up one night over christmas and did 20 bets in under an hour including time to enter my details for registration. Made £200 profit. Rinsed my exchange out :D

Word of advice!! Never, NEVER chase after money. If you ever find yourself thinking about doing an overlay on a sure football bet, or laying a horse with three legs without backing it first give yourself a hard slap. Stick with regular small profits and you'll find yourself very wealthy, very quickly. The more you earn, the more you do, the more you earn....

Stick to the sign ups, build up your exchange. Open a second account and repeat. Then start on the horse reloads (2nd place)....then move onto williamhill high5s. Wary of the 2nd place to sp as they are hard to come in.

Keep your eye out for price boost promos. They can be an easy way of earning £7 for a minutes work.

Remember statistically a horse favourite wins only 33% of the time, so think about that when doing the horse reloads.

also, smarkets is a good exchange as they only take 2% commission. I was a betfair fanboy, but made the switch and love smarkets now.
