Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

I've glad I came across this thread a couple of years ago - I'm massively better off.

Should be renamed matched spinning though as sports is pretty much dead, with the exception of 2up.
 
It's quieter but there's still weekend racing, 2UP as you say, accas, the odd £50 in-play offer, the odd new sign up offer and the odd decent extra place race.
 
Whats the current status of this? I got into it about 4 years ago and made some decent money but exhausted all the easy offers so I quit.

Is it worth getting back into? I have moved address since if that helps

This is correct. Your qualifying bets will always have a small loss, but when you get the free bets, you make considerably more than the loss.

It used to be great to top up your income but to make any serious money now you need to treat it as a full time job. I'm only making about 400 quid a month now.

You can still make 750-1200 a month but rather than it taking 10 hours a month like few years ago it's more like 60 hours now. Great for students, unemployed and retired, not so great if you are working.

Thanks. Yeh not for me now then. The hourly rate seems like about a third of what it was when I last did it. Thanks for the info.
 
Guys does anyone trade on the betting exchanges?

* what software do you use, can you point me to?
* any websites that give good newbie level info?
* how do you get knowledge that would help identify price swings. See man city at 6am this morning as a good example of this. Wtf happened at 6am?

Geeks toy, brilliant and easy to use.

There is Bet Angel as well and Peter Webb who runs that it a certified trading genius in my opinion.

For horse racing, I use patternform. I am not knowledgeable on horse racing by any stretch of the imagination, but I have had some success with it.

In respect of football....lay the draw. Tried and tested, and it does work. When it doesn't you just have to KNOW when to call it quits and trade your position out. If I was a master of this I would be minted. However I am getting better of knowing when to call it a day, and when to hold my nerve.

I currently make 150 quid a month of this approximately. I used to matchbet, and trading seems the natural evolution of that mentality of taking advantage of the odds. Match betting however got too tiresome and once I got gubbed on some of my main accounts I called it a day. I may start up again soon......probably pre World Cup next year.

I've found the same. Last year I made about £6k with barely any work. This year I've made a fraction of that. 4MM and 2Up seem to be the most lucrative, however most of the time I'm out when the matches are on so I can't get on the 2Up. i'm still carrying on with it as it's a nice bit of extra pocket money but it's nothing like it used to be.
 
Guys if you look at the new smarkets chart for city you will see a huge correction at 6am. Looking at betfair, there does not seem to be a big volume of trading going on at this time. Does anyone know what would cause this please? I can't post chart as I'm on mobile.

  • betangel for me
  • Gruss is another one I tried and it was decent - think they do a month free trial as well.
  • Forums at Betangel are good for information and starting out - good youtube channel as well.
  • I tend to stick to trading the draw etc - mostly all automated as well. Pick my games, fire up the automation and let it do it's thing.

I remember you mentioning this a few months ago, how much are you making in trading the draw if i may ask?

I haven't done much recently - despite it being automated, I'm lacking time to pick the games. I am up about £200 from a few months ago. I'm still in the very early stages of working out the right games etc

Are you using a preset from betangels or have you made one yourself with a specific set of rules? Quite keen to try this out!
