Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

Just managed to clear all my Cheltenham freebies, had a couple of races called off today so was scrabbling around for football bets to replace them. Going to hold off for a few days now whilst my bookie withdrawals go through.

Decided to straight up gamble with the betfair free multiples (not enough time on my hand to match them) actually ended up winning £60, might consider this next cheltenham as the place markets are so generous, first time for everything.

Got into this a while ago but then gave up after doing the sign up offers as after that the wins were not as guaranteed (which was the whole point of matched betting).

Has much changed since? Anything new?

No, still the same. The offers are guaranteed profits. Stuff like horse racing isn't, but you go with the low qls and just hope something comes in. Generally, over time you will be better off.
Unless you are like me, who has zero luck! I could pick a horse at 100/1 hoping he loses and he'll win.

Reminds be of completing a deposit bonus back in the day. Large bonus, large rollover, figured I'd cut out the work and go high odds to lose my first bet. Bet comes in, most of my bank swings to the bookie, left with £1200 rollover and to cap it the bookie limits my max bet to sub £5 on all markets. That was a rookie error I never made again!

OUCH! Yeah, that's probably one of the biggest risks with MB. I've been gubbed to 2p bets before, but luckily I only had free bets to spend and not real money so wasn't the end of the world. Skybet seem pretty good at not gubbing people but they have rubbish odds so.....

By the end of it I was getting on second division norwegian handball matches! This was summer too so no football.

Thanks all! I might get back into it still. Was a good little side earner.

How do the casino ones work? Isn't it just gambling at that point?
